Sun King Westy California Common...served to me in an incorrect glass...think this is 8 or 9 ounces...maybe they just treat all their “Visiting Draughts” this way...quickly moved onto a 20 ounce Bob to correct the disparity...

Bockor Cuvée des Jacobins Rouge at Beer Revolution with JP

post-95-13218342983781_thumb.jpg

For JP, a Lost Abbey Angel's Share Bourbon Barrel at 12%

I really like the Jacobins...make sure there's plenty of evidence of your debauchery...

Duck Rabbit Rabid Duck Imperial Stout. Waiting on this one to age for a while was a good idea.

The Jacobin was delicious. Prior to BR we were at The Trappist. Great spot

Had a sip of wine tonight with dinner (no longer taking any "good" drugs) since I was upset about the whole cpm machine screw up and my hubby thought I should have a little to calm down. Still don't want to drink too much until I am off crutches since I don't want a little fall.

killed the Founders Centennial IPA....now having my last Short's/Dogfish Head/Three Floyds Cornholio...

Founders Backwoods Bastard...this time from a bottle...

I definately prefer the '10...this year seems lighter in body & makes it drink even more closely to North Coast Old Stock Reserve...

Went next door to KC to celebrate the publication of this little blurb in some British rag. Drank quite a lot of wine.

I'm biased and all, but it is very nice. Although to be fair, you would actually have to bore through several million tonnes of rock to viddy the Atlantic Ocean as described. This inconsequential massif is in the way. Can you see why the cave at the upper left is known as Elephant's Eye?

Nearing the end of my Sweetwater Crank Tank Rye reserves. So tasty. Why can southeast breweries (Cigar City, Terrapin) only brew limited editions of west-coast-competitive IPA's? Only really decent IPA's Terrapin has put out is the Rye Squared, which is once a year, and one of their side-projects whose name has escaped into the vapor, along with any chance that they'll ever brew it again, apparently. Grrr.

Granted, they're facing the same fresh hop supply chain problem that I have as a southeastern homebrewer, and fresh hopses are all that matter in an IPA. Damn you Californians and your perfect climates.

more Founders Centennial IPA....

& a bottle of Southern Tier Back*Burner Barley Wine Style Ale...

I been modifying the Boulvardier for a while and am very proud of this version.

2 oz bourbon

1 oz Cocchi Torino

0.5 oz Gran Classico

Stir and garnish with a cognac soaked cherry.

This. As good as the Ritt 25 manhattan was, this is no slouch of a cocktail. The Vintage Bourbon works very nice here.

2005 Albert Boxler Gewurztraminer.

Don't you love it when booze buys that start with "I have no idea what this is but I'll get it anyway" work out. And a full bottle on an empty stomach later it's working out quite nicely, thank you very much. Still, I like it - creme brulee in wine form.

You know what they say, if you can't beat 'em, join em! ;)

Pappy Van Winkle Eclipse from 2008. Goddamn this is a perfect beer.

Al, I like the way you roll. Tomorrow I will be drinking John's birthday Cabernet while cooking Thanksgiving sides.
