April 13, 201115 yr I don't mind doing this. Please PM me if you want in on the SMD version of the attenuator with how many boards you would like and I'll post the totals in this thread. Per Kevin, they will be approximately $15.28 + shipping depending on the final count.
April 13, 201115 yr Sorry. This didn't include assebmly / parts / etc. If enough people are interested in assembed boards, we can look into that as well. Please let me know if you are interested in "Assembled", "Boards Only" or "Either" (include preference). Edited April 13, 201115 yr by Kerry
April 13, 201115 yr 2 please, boards only (or boards plus relays) Edited April 13, 201115 yr by luvdunhill
April 13, 201115 yr I would be interested in boards. I've been waiting for a good, reliable, relay based attenuator solution. If we are doing a GB on the relays I'd be interested in that as well.

April 13, 201115 yr Seems like we could use different voltage relays (other that 12V) provided the coil current is under 500mA. Just wanted to double check this. EDIT: Also the digital voltage could support 5V as well. EDIT2: Nevermind. I see the address ID jumper. Edited April 13, 201115 yr by Kerry
April 13, 201115 yr The programming is way out of my league - I'd be in for 2 boards, assembled or blank, if I could get pointed in the right direction as far as control
April 13, 201115 yr PLEASE SEE POST FOR THE LATEST COUNTS. Just a reminder. Please PM me all requests so we can keep the thread clean. I'll post an update at the end of the day (will be on vacation soon so I hope I can keep up). Also, depending on the pricing for assembly we may or may not end up doing this. I will reach out tomorrow for pricing based on a few different quantities. Also, sounds like a group buy for relays might be a good idea as well. Edited April 19, 201115 yr by Kerry
April 13, 201115 yr EDIT2: Would it be useful to add some address jumpers so that you could control the left and right channels of a balanced amp separately? One jumper per board might be enough for this. This would be quite useful. I could imagine attenuating two separate streams to two different people. Or do channel matching for testing headphones.
April 13, 201115 yr Please count me in for 2 sets of PCB or assembled version. Wachara C. Edited April 13, 201115 yr by chinsettawong
April 13, 201115 yr I thought kevin said that the surface mount version would have to beat machine assembled?
April 13, 201115 yr Author depends on how good you are and if you buy the tacking glue. I can assemble it. I DON'T really want to assemble it.
April 13, 201115 yr Author yep, on the back. look at the pdf file. updated picture http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/attenuator5.jpg Edited April 13, 201115 yr by kevin gilmore
April 13, 201115 yr You might consider longer landings for the relays, if it's even possible. That greatly aids assembly.
April 13, 201115 yr Author relay pads are 1.2 x 2.2 mm as specified by omron... what size do you want? edit: i'm thinking that programming this is gonna be very easy http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/touchpanel.jpg Edited April 13, 201115 yr by kevin gilmore
April 13, 201115 yr I don't know about the resistors, but I've hand-wired G6k-2F relays before. They're the same distance between pins as the G6SK, and the same thickness of the leads, just two less pins. Soldering them to a pcb isn't really that bad. So bare boards are perfectly fine with me.

Also, can anyone pull a BOM together real quick. It doesn't have to be perfect, but I need one to send over to the manufacturer to get a quote on the assembly. I would do it, but I'm not going to have time tonight. Thanks Edited April 19, 201115 yr by Kerry
April 14, 201115 yr which resistor are we using here? These? Also relays? I'll quickly put one together. Edited April 14, 201115 yr by ujamerstand
