What are you Grilling now?

Featured Replies

Last night, success.  Tonight, fail.  Ribs over cooked and twice baked potatoes undercooked.

  • I did sous vide picanha for the first time today. A simple rub of spices, smoked salt and olive oil, then cooked in the bath at 133F for 6 hours. The 'grill' part comes from very briefly finishing on

Having an infrared side burner on the grill is pretty fucking awesome. Thanks for the tip Marc. Indirect heat @225F for 30 minutes and then a 30 second sear per side on the infrared burner.

  • Smoked chuck roast. Much better than I expected. And a great excuse to use plenty of horseradish cream sauce.

At least you had Hidden Valley Ranch...

Small consolation ?

Just bought my first gas grill after years of Webber kettles.

Babybacks on the Weber kettle with the Slow 'n' Sear and apple wood at 225 (or so) for 4 hours. Maybe pics later.

Thanks guys, it was very good, better than the first one for sure.  I let it get to a solid 205 internal before pulling it.  Didn't have quite enough rest time but that didn't seem to impact things negatively either.  I guess that I am going to have to get up earlier next time, which is unfortunately but on some level I'm happy to suffer for the craft.

Maybe I should have a cheat day and fire up the Weber, while the weather is still nice.

Yes!

Veggie dogs and vegan burger patties for everybody!

I'm not grilling anything at the moment, but I did clean my Genesis inside and out. When the grease and grime below grilling surface started catching on fire, I figured it was time. :P The Genesis makes it very easy to take out all the parts and scrape/wash them down that I really should not wait so long.

Delivered today.  Now I have a pellet popper at home.  First cook?  Chicken Cordon Bleu.

Fired up the smoker today while working on the deck.

The ribs came out great (there were 4 sets like this is total) and the deck isn't looking too shabby.

Still have the other half of the railing to do but now that we've got it figure out it should go pretty quickly.

Very nice on both accounts!
