Got the latest COVID (Pfizer, August release) booster, as well as Flu Shot this weekend. Fuck RFK jr. and his satanic minions! They recommended shingles and RSV shots too; I may go for RSV, but my doc still thinks I could defer shingles. Will talk with her in Sept at my appointment, so that may change as well.

Mucho, Mucho by Shirley Scott (1959) https://album.link/ftpkngtfhqdmq Example: Not boring. :} I found this while searching for The Latin Jazz Quintet. One of Sherley's early recordings.

Other than a good helmet, rear-facing radar, and good rider ettiquete/precaution what else should I be doing? EDIT: Claude had some suggestions.

^^ yup - I made it through part of it the other day, dropped it from my queue, didn't post.

Great album art, Shosty, what's not to like? The terribly flat performance. Uninspired to the point of boring.
-
Yes it is. It's also a lot more dangerous than walking and hiking. Please be sure that you prepare properly.

Well, exists for two films because George Miller "nudged" the $tudio . In Furiosa there is selective color when it's important, like flare signals or a red apple. Normally a no-no, but I think it works here.

Thank you kindly, Voltron! Hard to believe we met in 1995... Sam

This existed. It's very terrible. That's Jennifer Aniston ---^

Lawmen: Bass Reeves. Kind of seems like it should be called Lawman: Bass Reeves, but I'll take it. Based on the true story of an escaped slave who became a peace officer for over 30 years, with 3,000 arrests, including his son. You may also recognize the name from the Tulsa/"Black Wall Street" open of Watchmen.

Bloomberg shouldn’t have copy-striked him, but Steve doesn’t know shit about the law. That video was painful even if he was in the right. Michael Moore style “show up in the lobby and demand answers” journalism is so cringe. It probably was just an automated strike. Don’t attribute to malice….

Biking is fun as hell. I think I need one. You just don’t get this speed on foot. I still love walking and hiking but this feels like a different beast.

Congrats on your anniversary HS! 🎊

It was so hot out yesterday that I started running top up to keep my helmet from getting cooked by the sun. Not my greatest performance. I blame heat-soaked brain. Someone driving the big track even started a grass fire when their car threw off some sparks!

These were posted in the audiophile subreddit and there was much cluck-clucking over room acoustics.

they are made by a person from a neighboring country from a common audio chat but not for sale unfortunately he made them for himself I tried to buy them but without success same story with Chinsettawong Omega or Orpheus or JF I was looking for them for several years and everyone I talked to didn't want to sell them https://www.head-case.org/forums/topic/21643-a-diy-shangri-la-headphone-for-hifi-xmen/ same story with any of these headphones they are simply impossible to buy anywhere - but I would like to and also since this is a stax thread - I'll show you all Stax 4070 MK1 2001 1.35 microns which I once owned

Anniversary dinner at Barbacana in Houston. Our first time and we were very impressed with the service, food and drink. Wagyu carpaccio, a vegetarian dish that was a riff on ramen, pork collar and a few desserts. The Korn, which was sweet and savory was a culinary gem IMHO (brittle on top one). HS

I kept meaning to say, Ms. Chloe could give Grumpy Cat a run for the money 😊 Still sounds like a sweetheart though! For me, some good things happened and coming up: Andrew & Amy moved in fully, and have started working with the designer that Karen and I worked with for our bathrooms. Lots of good ideas coming out, and everyone (myself included) is excited to see what comes from this Went out last night with some family to celebrate my mom's 86th BDay. Was a nice time, not everyone could come but the smaller group made it very nice. She had a wonderful time, until I was on my way home and she calls me all frustrated about her TV having issues (I am Tech Support). I told her she needs to chill - I can ONLY say that to my mom 🤣 - and walked her through a shut-off and turn-on of power to reboot cable box, modem, etc. Worked for the night at least, we'll see if it gives more trouble. In a couple weeks, we celebrate my dad's 90th! He has a tough time getting around physically, and has hearing issues. But mentally he is there, and he enjoys (for short enough duration) the company of family. Work situation will get a bit better. Had a chat with our new CIO and she seems great. We were so in synch with a lot of things it was scary....but good. I also heard they will open the REQ to hire another role like mine, very much needed. Short-term will fill in with another off-shore developer; but we need the Business Analysis piece as well
