Glastonbury 2025 Plenty to choose from, well it is Glasto from who are they to I recognize them But don't take my word for it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glastonbury_Festival_2025 https://www.theguardian.com/music/live/2025/jun/27/friday-glastonbury-festival-cmat-wet-leg-secret-sets-live-latest-updates-news https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cz6gdnz041do Clips on the BBC Music YouTube Channel Lets see what you could have watched on BBC iPlayer if you were in the UK - entire sets https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/b007r6vx/glastonbury or had something. Very Probably Not.

I took a look at the datasheets, and their Vgs vs. Id transfer curves actually seem fairly similar in the linear region, so I think they should be directly swappable. But it's probably best to measure the Vgs your circuit runs the C2M at, and then check if that voltage still lands in the linear/controllable region for the C3M. That's my understanding for using them in something like the GRHV, though I haven't factored in the overall feedback loop behavior here. So not sure if I'm missing anything on that front. I have ordered a pair of C3M and have a Carbon on hand, A straight swapped can be easy. Will report it later.

RIP P. Adams Sitney, film scholar of the Avant-Garde “There’s in the art world in America now a deep hatred of the idea of originality and inspiration, a deep hatred of revelation,” he said in 2015. “There’s some ridiculous notion that art can be democratic. Art is the least democratic of all things!” https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/25/movies/p-adams-sitney-dead.html?unlocked_article_code=1.SE8.tPES.7HF2tsiog1ch&smid=url-share

Holy shitballs! That Dream Academy cover gave me the chills! Thanks, Stretch! And thanks too for the Cowboy Junkies post. I lusted big time for Margo in those days.....glad I finally saw them live after many many years. The Sun Comes Up It's Tuesday Morning video is wonderful too (my favorite song by them, followed closely by 'Cause Cheap Is How I Feel; two great noir-like narratives).

Totally. @cetoole has a 1030 with the Varia. Went R+L at first, but later went with the camera version. Definitely nice to have! Congrat again; that's so hot. Oh, how was the commute?

It's been a while but I just wanted to say thanks. I am considering Spritzer's KGSSHV kit but a ton of the kit-excluded silicon parts are discontinued. Other things came up and slowed me down, now I am considering newer options like the carbon and maybe CFA-E, although the carbon has similar issues with part sourcing now it seems. Either way, this community seems to be the right place to look given the amount of documentation and focus on objective performance. -

Digikey recommended C3M0900170D as a replacement. Specs are mostly quite similar but Vgs(th) is slightly different, and the gate-source voltage curves look different from C2M1000170D. I believe this graph tells us about the gain and linearity? I am not at all well versed in transistors so don't take my word at face value. I looked at Wolfspeed's C3M lineup for 1.2-1.7kV, and basically everything had huge input and output capacitance or gate-source curves that didn't look as linear as the C2M1000170D. But again, I don't completely understand what I'm looking at, and will happily be corrected to learn. Edit: The domain and range of the graph is different. The 175C curve definitely seems droopier than C2M’s, so it’s hard to know what it’s like at 40-60C or whatever we operate it at. It's a 1030 Plus, so not exactly vintage. It's actually hugely helpful to have both a gravel and road computer. And the Garmin radar system is actually really cool. I'll probably add a second taillight to the mix for the pure road bike.

I used a Mini Hot Plate when soldering the buck converter and inductor. First a thin layer of solder and then up on the plate. 150 degrees Celsius for a minute before up to 250. Rest of components are hand soldered. Thanks for the bridge tip. I have some small Schottky bridge rectifiers (CDBHD240-G) I intend to try first. -
Great to know that. You could further reduce the PCB size by using a compact bridge rectifier like the CSPB40K-HF. It has a much smaller footprint compared to standard rectifier packages and still handles decent current. Like the way how you fix and test the 2A3 tube. Recently, I purchased these soldering tweezers from JBC to perform SMD work. Nice and decent.

We had a drooly cat who used to sleep on the amps. Every now and again I had to take the perforated covers off and wipe of the dried drool. Long gone alas - she got to a decrepit 19 and we had to say goodbye. In her heyday she was the scourge of the rodent population, including a family of rats that had defeated every other way of killing them.
