Headphones

I was hoping somebody could help me out here. Currently I use Phillips SHE9503/10 in-ear earphones. They get the job done, and I felt as though I got a bargain with them. Im definitely happy with those. However my listening experience has lessened of late. I find I take too long putting the buds in my ears, and a lot of times when turn my head the wires would catch on my jacket button, making me start the process of fitting the buds back in my ears. And sometimes I feel them sliding out so I have to constantly adjust. All the while my song is being played and im not listening to it properly. Anyway, because of all this I was thinking about replacing them with headphones. …

Hello I bought pair of SR-3 year ago. I knew they had failure, left driver was quiet, right driver was only little louder. After year I've decided to give them new life this spring. At the first I've discovered holes in diaphragm of the left driver as you can see in the picture. I decided to use 2um mylar to make new diaphragm for both drivers and self made coating with some antistatic spray+isopropanol. Now I am sitting with them and writing this post, they sound great, with good bass, with sweet and not sharp highs.

Hey all I listen to all types of rock. Mainly listen to stuff like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Mars Volta, Porcpine Tree and 90s alt rock. All in FLAC of course. From my research it appears the Shure SE425 would be a good choice I'm in the £50-150 pound bracket. Willing to go more if its REALLY worth it. Looks like I can score some great deals on ebay. The SE 535 are just ridiculously more expensive here in the UK. Not sure if there is anything else I should consider? Or any anyone tell me what I really need in terms of like mid ranges, treble etc? Thanks for your time and any help.

They say it's a replacement plan that covers accidental damage so if I were to drop them and they don't work or break I'm covered which is what I want..But I normally take good care of my stuff and really don't see myself ever dropping them. What do you guys think? I think it will cost anywhere from $14.99 to $29.99

Hello everyone, Long time since I last posted, but I'm in need of a pair of closed headphones and what a better place to ask around and see how everyone is doing. So I had a son last year and listening to the speaker rig or akg 701 at night with the wife sitting next to me is pretty much impossible. I wish to replace/upgrade my broken, 20yr old Sony MDR-V404 phones. I have always been impressed with their sound. They are the only ones I have used for 20 years. I bought a MDR-ZX-100 for time being and they not close no cigar to the old ones. I am not a professional. I use my phones for making cd'swith my laptop: music/movie/you-tube. I really should have started one of these back in 2005 when I started my collecting but hindsight and all that... There's a pair of really nice looking SR-404LE's for sale at another site. $700.00 ... I got the itch to pull the trigger just because; fatter cable, swanker looks, leather pads ... and supposedly pretty great on the Lambda scale (I've read the main threads here at Hcase re: such)... But already having the 307's (my secondary cans) and some Koss ESP950's (my main, most loved cans) ... just not sure if I'd regret a $700 purchase for a minimal improvement over either of my current cans (especially the ESP950's which I consider quite dramatically better than my 307's... I've been pondering this question... If electrostatic cans are mostly just a thin filament of material .. then how do various cans have different sound signatures? Is there a crossover circuit in the headphone? Why do my Koss 950's sound so much different than my Stax 307's? What is the variable that affects sound? Curious...

Hi, I'm looking for advice on headphones. I use them to listen to mp3's and tube on the laptop and the TV at night and gaming. I have a habit of getting the cables caught up, loosening the wires or bending the jack, meaning I have to replace them from time to time. Because of this I tend to get fairly basic relatively inexpensive sets. I've owned a lot of different headphones throughout the years, including V-Moda Crossfade LP, Beats Detox, Jays a-Jays Four, Beats Tour, Noontec Zoro HD, Klipsch S4i and so on. I always went by the thought that more expensive is better. And then I bought the MEElectroincs M9P. They have an inline mic, which is nice. Im looking at getting a new set of headphones for my father for drumming. He has explained to me in the past that a particular type of headphones were able to adjust left and right ear volume and that helped him distinguish the drums from certain songs. Since good headphones dont seem to have this feature, i thought about using a equalizer or something of that nature. What would i need audio wise to make the drums in a song stand out?
