  2. I keep thinking about a Hackintosh... but then I realize I don't want a machine that I have to tinker with to get to work right, I just want something that works.

  3. I received the wireless charging back panel for the S5 last night and installed it without incident (so far). Yes, it makes the phone marginally thicker and a little heavier. To my hands (largish) it actually makes the phone more comfortable to hold. I was also pleased to discover that you do not have to use the Samsung branded charger (unnecessarily expensive) and managed to buy a charger for both work and home for less than Sammy's single unit would have cost. Basically, the $50 rebate I got on the phone nearly covered the entire upgrade. No more fiddling with the battery door I will have allegedly maintained my water-tightness.

  4. Wow. Impressive first game for my Giants! Bumgarner is a machine. Good to see Strickland finish it off cleanly. Three more to go!

  5. Do we have an HC fantasy hockey league? If not, any interest? If yes, I could play with you?

  6. Bdent is obviously the safest, but there are other good sources for 3675 ($1-2) and 3381 ($1-2). Still more than the newer stuff from mouser, but not a lot more when you consider the overall cost of the t2.

  12. Pretty much. Basically it's "The Drift" but with a long sustained guitar chord throughout.

  14. My hackintosh is running great. Installed Yosemite using Clover yesterday. Everything except iMessages works splendidly. I can send and receive SMS but not iMessages. Far more stable than Mavericks which had frequent crashes. No crashes so far. You should investigate the avenue Shelly. For $1600 you are well on your way towards a kickass rig. The initial headache is there in trying to get everything set up but once it is there, it is rock solid. Depends on whether the headache is worth saving the extra $500-$1000.

  15. A year?!? Yeezh. Me: I volunteered to -- and did -- transport 3 cats away from a shelter to a vet for a rescue organization. I guess I'm an honorary Fancy Cats Rescue Team member now.

  16. I saw that bhphoto is still selling 2012 quad core Minis. Then I realized that I would need to upgrade the RAM and HD (to a SSD) and that would be close to $1200 after upgrades (and the SSD install looks like a PITA). Then I decided I might as well get a 21.5 iMac at that price. Then I decided that by the time I got 16gb of RAM and a 256 SSD HD, I would up to around $1600 so I might as well look at the 27" iMac since I would like to have a larger monitor anyway. Then after the upgrades to that I decided that I should just get the new 27" Retina 5K iMac... I stopped before getting to the Mac Pro.
