  1. Yesterday visited the MD (Managing Director) of avihifi.com in his home to audition his current + prototype active speakers. Suitably impressed; spousal purchase approval granted. Double win! then impressive pub lunch + playing tourist in market town of Cirencester (which dates back to roman times) Today, said goodbye to our home away from home in Cheltenham Then played tourist in Cheltenham Saw some German hatchbacks you can't get in the U.S. (brand dilution?) And then encountered a store that had head case written all over it. Then more playing tourist in the Cotswolds, including several single track roads, lots of wildlife (pheasants, partridges and the like) Quaint villages, including a pub closed on Mondays and Tuesday's (WTF), lack of cell signal, and chilly weather. Then back around the M25 in the dark and wet to get back to my Mothers at > 54mpg. Tired.

  2. Read somewhere about using a 50/50 beer/water brine for meats. So I am trying it with the winter Magic Hat and pork chops tonight.

  3. I've used Bay Area Circuits (http://store.bayareacircuits.com/) for a number of projects and have been more than happy. They also have an online viewer so you can see what the boards will look like. Me

  4. I spent many hours choosing between an older pair of 007mk1’s and the 009’s with a BHSE. The 009 was the clear winner, less muddy, not as coloured and better transparency. Brightness was never an issue.

  6. The guy (gal) wearing the 009mk3rev4batch3 is smiling, where the guy wearing 009mk3rev4batch2 is not. Very easy visual indicator.

  12. Listening on vinyl and I had forgotten that it has a song that shares a name with one of HC's next generation. Here are the lyrics at the end of the song: Clean as a breeze, bright as the day All of the people gather to say "Sweet Esme! Sweet Esme!" Oh, oh, oh! I believe love will always surround you Brave as a bear with a heart rare and true But if you are scared, if you are blue I have prepared this small song for you: Sweet Esme! Sweet Esme! Oh, oh, oh!

  13. After traversing the M25 in the dark, rain and Rush hour traffic (because: no alternative) we had a very enjoyable "Nepalese" (as opposed to "Indian") in Chelmsford. Oh Onion Bhaji's how I've missed you. Mish mash masu Did they miss any Nepalese cliche/meme?

  16. It is, but I've always had a soft spot for Silvertone, since it was my first exposure to him. I have a soft spot for his second album, too, since it was easier to find. In fact, I need to go on a Chris Isaak binge...
