  1. Okay.....after giving up riding to be at the beck and call of a puppy's bladder, I'm back on the bike. Did 10 miles on Saturday, which was annoyingly hard, but it was so much fun to be out and about again. I was actually laughing when I got home. Also, the computrainer place I used to go to a couple years ago just opened up again in the building next to my office...we share a parking lot. I've been going on lunch hours and getting my azz kicked to Sufferfest videos. My watts are only set at 125 and I feel like I've never been on my bike before, but I'm loving it. I aiming to be able to do the fun group rides again come june-ish. Right now, I need to get my legs back and drop some poundage. I also need to get some new riding friends. All my old crew moved, got too good for me, or quit to do other things.
  2. Pork chops, grilled onions, bacon fat roasted broccolini, and grilled Mikey bread
  3. Carnitas tacos for my friend's birthday at my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. It was good to eat something substantial.
  4. Eating like a Colin tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Very large steak and two bottles of red wine (not pictured.)
  6. Chicken Tandoori with curry winter squash. Wow, this plate disappeared fast.
  7. One channel of the Uber amp running on a + - 20v bench supply into 10R load
  8. Just finished another ribeye similarly cooked at 129F but for 3 hours pan seared with butter and herbs over medium heat. Not as crispy of a crust as it would have been had I used much higher heat but man this was the best steak I've ever had. Just the right balance of flavor, doneness, warmth, chewiness and tenderness. I'd say the 'Chacho' at the Columbia restaurant has been dethroned as my favorite steak. No pictures of this one unfortunately. Need to give my kidneys a little break over the next few days as I've been ingesting large quantities of meat but will be back in a couple of weeks.
  9. ,.. and even if it turns out that it isn't the ssd, now would be a dandy time to update that back up/external with anything that you don't want to loose.
  10. I use Father Ted samples for all my cellphone ringtones. It screams "ARSE!" at me whenever a text comes in. People who might disapprove of that sort of thing generally can't understand Frank Kelly's drunk enunciation.
  11. Ming Tsai black pepper and garlic poached beef Tenderloin (we used NY Strip) with garlic-Dijon pan sauce. http://recipes.anovaculinary.com/recipe/black-pepper-garlic-poached-beef-tenderloin-with-garlic-dijon-pan-sauce Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great! I wish they didn't charge you an arm and a leg for the repair, Chris. Definitely looking good.

Back from repair and looking brand new
  14. I'm giving some pretty serious thought to the Focus RS as a car that will still carry the 3 kids in the back but I can have fun with. We have room for a 3rd car so leaving the Odyssey sitting in the driveway is a serious option. We were looking at getting some nicer luxury cars but it makes more sense to spend more money on two cheaper cars but get we actually want. Meaghan is looking at some of the smaller crossovers from Volvo, BMW, MB and others and I've always wanted a pocket rocket.
  15. *(Offer excludes death, taxes, Brent.)
  16. I haven't been on a bike in a while but maybe I can join you one of these weekends coming up.
  17. old caps are the best. one of my first ever DIY projects was with caps from my dad's 1970s parts bin. Caps blew up. Dad wasn't happy. Some people just can't throw out old things..
  18. The anova app said 129F for medium rare so that's what I cooked it at. Meat thermometer confirmed it at 129.6F. Whether that's rare or medium rare, I don't know but it tasted quite good in my belly
  19. Feck!, RIP Frank Kelly
  20. Now this is interesting:
  21. Is that what Colin's unit is made of these days
  22. yeah, but what if i put in Bybees and stopped washing the flux off my circuit boards? i'll just leave this here. that's the name of the part.

Buy me one, and I won't report back.......
  24. So we spent too much time trying to get Xavier's bike set up this weekend, plus rain and busy-ness kept us from riding. Well, he was really wanting to ride so we loaded up and went out to play in the rain. It was a blast! We wound up on a busy road to start but we went exploring and found a large parking lot that was mostly empty. He seems to have the shifting in the rear down now, and he LOVES riding in the drops, after I told him it was an option. While we were drenched and a little cold, we had a fantastic time. It was also the first time my bike had been off the trainer all year. It is bloody amazing the difference I feel riding after having most over 30 pounds. I'm really excited to get out a lot more this year. **BRENT**
  25. Still have some adjusting to do on the shifters, but yeah, I think he's pretty happy. We also got our Tour de Cure jerseys in today, so he is SUPER excited. Our first real ride is tomorrrow, and really looking forward to it. **BRENT**
