  1. The most beautiful tile I've ever set! Its hard to see but the tile is slightly concave. Doug is becoming a natural tile setter.
  2. We turned training the new Roomba 980 into a drinking game. Have to take a drink every time it tries to hump some low slung piece of furniture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Pan seared scallops and Alaskan King Crab legs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Broke out my old Dynalo because I needed a single-end output amplifier to use with the Focal Elear when I first got it. Ended up casing it up while I had some free time. Running on TPA's Placid HD power supply tuned for 18VDC and 50mA shunt current. Will likely play with that when I feel up for it.
  5. So many biscuits. But none for Brent
  6. Parents' Weekend at Andrew's college. Karen and I get up nice and early, get down and see a couple presentations (we really like this school and the President is just fantastic!). At around 10am Andrew answers Karen's text; he'll meet us at 12:30 in the dining hall. He comes in after we sit, answers a few questions with one-or-two-word answers. Then we bring some supplies to his room, and head home for a family dinner for the Jewish New Year. Still the same boy, he's doing very well though. Likes the school, working hard, and has met a solid group of kids to call his friends. They are even talking about trying to get into a suite next year, but chances may be slim. Good to have him home a few hours, even though he still stays behind closed door for the most part. Missed him....
  7. Debbie made Vivian Howard’s tomato pie tonight. Al made one a couple of weeks ago. Tomatoes, caramelized onions, basil, fontina and parmigiana reggiano. We had it at her restaurant a couple of years ago and loved it. Ours turned out very good with awesome flavor. Couldn’t stop eating it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. This just about puts the nail in the coffin of MQA as something worth paying attention to far as I am concerned. http://archimago.blogspot.com/2017/09/mqa-core-vs-hi-res-blind-test-part-ii.html
  9. Went to ocakbaşı (without booze) today: Lord of mangal: Special kofte: Chicken wings: Special bread:
  10. Check out the Head-Fi "for sale" section. The site itself is unusable, but some guy built a slick search engine for its content: https://devbrada.com/classifieds/ — please note that you might not be able to sell on there if you don't have an established reputation.
  11. Seems like you prevented End of Days.
  12. I started gym today. Got a little belly and it is growing slowly. I joined the class for Ground Floor Excersize today and I must say I got a bit softer.... I'm doing mostly hard cardio; crossfit etc.
  13. Thanks! I already removed the pot and will be installing off board pot. I will also remove the 4 small caps, C10 and C11 (+C7 and C16)
  14. Hey hey hey, that's actually good advice, what do you think this is, Head-Fi?
  15. These are very good news Todd. I'm glad things are going good and he fit well. Those are the most important ones I believe.
  16. Tell us more about the S&M bit?
  17. The benefits of staying at the S&M B&B -- fresh baked goodness.
  18. A friends Birthday Cake Very Chocolatey / raspberry Birthday Cake
  19. Test Tone @ Home live right now: http://mixlr.com/illuminator/chat
  20. One of my favorite airplane albums
  21. Met Kerry today. He was nearby, meeting with his Sister I believe. He came to Doug's to visit with us. As nice as I expected, but much funnier than I had realized! This has already been a great trip!
  22. Delivered today. Now I have a pellet popper at home. First cook? Chicken Cordon Bleu.
  23. Tri-tip with, uh, some more tri-tip.
  24. I'm not grilling anything at the moment, but I did clean my Genesis inside and out. When the grease and grime below grilling surface started catching on fire, I figured it was time. The Genesis makes it very easy to take out all the parts and scrape/wash them down that I really should not wait so long.
  25. I think that's Jimmy Buffett.
  26. Brent with the knowledge. Warren Buffett sure gets around ...
  27. Sorry for the delay, but here is Gene's morning update: All ok here, Al. Irma took last minute veer to the east (inland) and spared us the worst. No damage, flooding or injuries. Just shrubs, branches, small trees, and litter to clean up. Very lucky. Powet expected to be out for a while, but we have water service. It was an adventure for sure. Also, Steve is back "home" at the trailer park but he is staying in another person's trailer because they are out of town and Steve's trailer would be rather breezy (big hole in it). He has no power or internet so he is not likely to be here much for the moment. He wanted me to let everyone know he is good and I'm excited that he is seriously considering moving back to the Bay Area by November. Woot!
  28. Vicki just posted that she's staying at work, so not exactly evacuated. But it looks like the storm track is farther west, and she's on the east coast.
