  3. You need to start sunbathing naked on the deck. "Take a picture of this, Bob."
  4. Yeah, the series was really something. This though just appeared in the New Yorker and worth a read... https://www.newyorker.com/news/our-columnists/what-hbos-chernobyl-got-right-and-what-it-got-terribly-wrong
  5. Those guys are kinda interesting... may have to listen to more. And yes, I found the lyrics quite appropriate these days.
  6. You're a beast Nate... not sure I could avg. 15mph for that right now. I'm not worthy!
  7. For reasons somewhat detailed in other threads I have been training pretty aggressively this season. A couple of times so far I've decided to push, hard. This morning was one of those times.

    Pure acoustic iPhone amplifier.
  9. i have a question. i have tried to get quote for this board, and when i have uploaded the gerber file, system detected 3 layers. i can choose between 2, 4, 6. if i were to use 2, what happens if this inner layer is discarded? or in case of 4 layer, i suppose this inner layer is then duplicated and then there are two 2-layer boards pressed together with same inner layer? thank you
  10. I'm curious to see this. The old movie is pretty good, but not great. I've probably ready Catch-22 15 times at this point - usually what happens is I go looking for a quote, start reading, and realize I have read the whole thing again. If you haven't read it, I cannot recommend Something Happened enough.
  11. I found this LP at an used record store here in my city. The Moody Blues "Days of Future Passed"
  12. In all fairness, I was introduced to them several years ago by a certain British Facebook friend, but they’re so great, I don’t even have a favourite song by them. “Again” got played on repeat for a while there, so it’s probably closest, but I like all their long songs, “Lights”, “Controlling Crowds”, etc. And the lyrics to “Fuck U” still resonate in today’s American political climate.

The order period for the third batch of the Ravenswood/DSHA3F is closing June 8th. Delivery is expected in late August.
  14. Now time for something super rare... a balanced SRM-1 Mk2 PP. I didn't think any of these existed as there was the ATR version for studio use which had a stepped attenuator and balanced inputs but in almost 20 years of searching...none have turned up. Then I came across this one last year in Japan in pretty rough shape with tape all over it. I naturally over payed as usual but then again, how often does one find something like this: So years ago I did this and nice to see Stax did the exact same mod as me. Remove the 100R resistor to ground on the other side of the fet and put two resistors off the board in its place. The amp also arrived with one channel dead, shorted transistors and almost open resistors in the front end. Now for the money shot... This is clearly stock from Stax as all the screws match what they used at the time but one odd thing is that the markings are actually engraved into the back and not simply silk screened.
  15. It's a chrome finish. I did it in black as well. Here's the PS...

Yes, the neighbors are kind of weird. He is an older guy in some kind of sales position that seems to have a lot of free time. I guess he either took a picture from his deck or went over to bug the workers daily for the whole build.
