I made some progress on improving the cup I'm getting from the Levercraft. I went with a slightly finer grind and a little longer extraction in the french press and the results were good. This was with the Mexican bean, which I preferred to begin with. I'll run through the a few more of those beans before I try the same approach with the Burundi and see how it goes. I admit to not having a whole lot of interest in the subtleties of making coffee, I very much like to just grind, brew, consume (repeat as needed) without much/any fiddling.3 points

I tried the Hoffman french press method just now. It is a very good cup of coffee. Perhaps a bit less bitter than my usual method. I generally use between 31 and 33 grams of coffee to ~16oz of water so not far off his recommended dosage. The method I've used of late: 1) freshly medium coarse ground of 31 grams of good coffee into a double walled steel french press (Freiling unit that has been great for many years) and I start a 4 minute and 30 second kitchen timer; 2) add roughly 8 oz of just under 200 degree filtered water from my fridge heated in a Bonavita gooseneck kettle that's really grown on me; 3) stir with a tablespoon steadily and not too fast for a 5 count; 4) add the remaining 8 pz of water and stir another 5 seconds steadily; and 5) plunge steadily and slowly once the timer goes off. Method stolen from George Howell's Terroir Coffee site. Happy caffeinating.... HS2 points

So idk if anyone has used this or not, but found a way to move playlists between different services. May be of benefit to some of you. Seems to work with Tidal, Spotify, iTunes, etc. https://www.tunemymusic.com/1 point

I get to go to work almost daily by walking a bit less of a mile. Joining you would be most complicated. Charles Lloyd - 8: Kindred Spirits (Live from the Lobero)1 point

My Westone ES5 no longer fit, unfortunately (weight loss is a bitch for some things: I should get them remolded, again), but I finally have a pair of JH phones. It's the humble AK x JH Billie Jeans. Funny how a $350 pair of IEMs is now humble. I have HD-800S and Meze Emperyean (and my favorite headphones of all time, my vintage RS-1, but they have a cable fault) at my disposal, at the moment, run from a pretty stacked rig, but the Billie Jeans are my most listened to phones, now that my AirPods have died (I average about 30,000 steps a day, so portability is important to me). I have compared them to my latest somewhat broken pair of Ety ER-4P (I don't even know how many pairs of Etys I've had, at this point: this pair has to be held by hand on the right side to work in stereo), and the Billie Jeans remind me very much of the Etys, but better. I'm very glad to have them. I think they are excellent.1 point
