Yesterday - hung out with the local riff raff. Given the size, likely a male. He hung around in that tree for a couple hours before moving on. Was pretty impressive to see.

Got the re-tipped Zu DL-103 back yesterday. Today I mounted the cartridge, set the tracking force, aligned the cartridge and set azimuth and VTA. The custom belt is due on Tuesday, so I'll check the sound then. My last pieces of wood for the new stand shipped today. should be here soon. It's all coming together.

So I am necrobumping this thread from 7!!! years ago. This year is a bit different in a few ways. First, the Marathon will be run in virtual mode. Everyone runs it locally on their own and provides proof using their tracking tech. Secondly, this will be run both by Karen and Peter. Lastly, they are running a half-marathon rather than a full marathon. For my health’s sake I will not expound on the reasons for this. Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny A genius book. I get the feeling that books as disparate as Dan Simmons' Hyperion Cantos (and Ilium / Olympos, of course), Richard Morgan's Altered Carbon trilogy, Walter Jon Williams' Aristoi, and even David Brin's Kiln People (and so many more), were directly inspired by Lord of Light.

Can you say motherlode ! Actually kinda sad in a way. I'll miss seeing all that gear in the background of Tom's videos. But,.. life goes on

Just picked up a DIY Kludge headphone amp. The base circuit came from a Vacuum Tube Valley #11 on page 24 and 25. Has NOS Tung-Sol 6080 and 6SL7 tubes. Has plenty of power. Easily drives Abyss 1266 phi.

L700MK2 did arrive in time... thoughts above, TLDR I feel it's excellent for those of you wanting a more tonally rich presentation. I'd also run it on Solid State over Tube and with the Dark Pads exclusively
