  1. If that doesn't make your mouth water, then you're dead.

  3. I have a project in Oakland (Montclair), so what does one do on their way home from Montclair? Well, one stops at La Farina bakery and drops $85 on a pear tart and two of every cookie they make. Will need to spread these around. Thursday night is dinner at Dorothy's, but even Al, Claire, Dorothy and I won't put a big dent in this haul. If only I knew a tall man with a hungry teenage son.

  4. Haven't slept well the last couple, and limited meetings today. So while working from home, and no one else in the house, have been listening to some interesting wake-me-the-fuck-up music. Converge/Chelsea Wolfe - Bloodmoon: I

  5. I have to say that I've been hugely impressed by the little Breville Bambino (I guess technically I have the "Plus" but they didn't call it back then). It's dead simple to use and my taste buds tell me it produces as good or better shots/drinks than my local coffee shops with precious little effort. It's just one piece of at least a three-part chain (coffee, grinder, brewer) so buying it or any other decent quality piece and failing at the others does you less good than setting yourself up with good or better pieces at each point. As this thread has shown, you can clearly invest a lot more and I'm not arguing that the results aren't better, but I've hit a nice sweet spot for me that doesn't drive SWMBO insane. That's my 2c.

  8. Well, she went ahead and bought the Rancilio combination, and I agree with her reasoning -- it's not just for herself, as she will be able to serve it to clients, so will also be able to write it off on taxes.

  9. Who else is up for the eclipse? It's truly an almost perfect night for watching endless clouds, but I kinda wanted to see the moon.

  10. Listening to this now, this might be my favourite album from either artist individually, and I am a fan of both. I mean, I am literally giggling in how great it is. And apparently there was a blood moon last night.

  12. Yes, I have chosen MPSA06/56. And I should have used the bigger footprints - this one would have been just fine (2.54mm pad spacing): Maybe in a future board revision... And then I fabricated the L-bracket and mounted the five power transistors this evening. The heatsink is for testing purposes only and will be replaced by heatsink sidewalls of the final enclosure. Good that the MJF15030/031 are completely insulated - makes mounting easy, just a dab of heat transfer compound.

  13. Since you screwed this up so much, I recommend you just throw it all away and start over. Just consider this a practice run. Also, on an unrelated subject, I am doing research on the days peoples’ trash is picked up across Head-Case for a white paper I am writing. Please send me your address and pick-up day for my studies.

  14. Speaking of which, Slickdeals points out three months trial, any plan, for $1 https://slickdeals.net/f/15409318-tidal-music-subscription-3-months-1-00-any-plan-bestbuy In the comments they point out best buy has 6 month of apple music for free* (new subscribers only) https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-free-apple-music-for-6-months-new-subscribers-only/6451501.p?skuId=6451501 But my favorite comment was "I just subscribed through Argentina via VPN it's like 1.5 usd a month for hifi" Geographical Arbitrage FTW

  15. Me n+1! Additionally, they promised to give my favourite band every month 10% of my fee -- that's like $1.50, which is about $1.50 more (with rounding) than they're getting from Spotify, as I tend to listen to some very underground bands. https://tidal.com/formusic?showLove=true&crm=true Just decided to keep Tidal, if for nothing else, for that. Of course, in April, that'll probably be Kylie Minogue, but that's okay.

  16. on the yemenia? nope, he’s basically roasting it at cost: https://levercraftcoffee.com/collections/whole-bean-coffee/products/single-origin-yemenia-qima-alchemy-series-lot-3 For other beans, yeah there’s generally tiered pricing on greens. Full 65kg bags are usually significantly cheaper, before shipping. Then there are places that sell in the 50-65 lb range, then 25, 15, and 5.

  18. I had the pleasure of joining friends in Bowling Green, KY for ChallengerFest and then Holley's MoParty this week. What a hoot and such an eclectic but cool track. It has an amusement park, water park and is basically in horse country. A trip. Anyhoo, my friend made to the finals in the Outlaw class which was pretty impressive. Unfortunately it rained today so he split the purse with the other gent...who he had beaten in qualifying. Here are a few pics of the car to give you an idea of the level of build it is. HS
