Went for a nice hike today. But the best part was when it was over. Karen informed me that she wanted to drive home. Not unusual, so I thought nothing more about it. As I was sitting in the passengers seat she asked me if I had any coffee left from this morning. That was a little weird as I rarely finish my coffee before our hike and she never asks me. I say yes and she hands me a bottle of her turmeric/ginger Kombucha. I looked at her quizzically and she just said, โopen it up and smell itโ. So I did, and it was definitely not Kombucha, in fact my nose immediately informed my brain that it was bourbon. So I poured it into my coffee and had a very nice ride home. Did I say that I love my wife?7 points

The base is birch which I get locally, because birch. The brown wood is English brown oak which is white oak from England that has been killed by a fungus that turns it brown. It's from https://www.hearnehardwoods.com/oak-english-brown-lumber-2/ I used it for my kitchen cabinets, and that bundle in the yard was one of 5 of those I bought. Pics of that later as I am still finishing the cabinet doors. And a detail on how the leveling feet work ...6 points

That is really great work. Though I think you cheated by not doing it under candle light. Who did you source the wood from?2 points

It is fairly violent compared to most of my router bits. Especially since I took off my start pin when I was routing long rockers and now have no idea where I left it. The cut it nice if you can actually hold onto it. The right side (shiny) is the handheld with a 1/4 template bit and the left is the whiteside UFT.2 points

^^ from the image - that must be the low resolution edition? ๐ (sorry) Me: Silver Age (Extended Edition) Daniil Trifonov 2020 https://album.link/i/1551363684 Example: 2.5 hours is a little bit much for a one time sitting of this extended release. But I really enjoyed these works. The Scriabin I thought was particularly well done.1 point

New Haelos track (nice return to form): https://tidal.com/browse/track/247388928 New Snarky Puppy! https://tidal.com/browse/album/228999248 New Keith Jarrett! https://tidal.com/browse/album/250019473 And this track still slays me -- both guitar solos and the build on both the song and her vocals...just... I can't even... https://tidal.com/browse/track/692009441 point

Like most pre-amplifiers the blue hawaii topology is actually an attenuator followed by fixed amplification stages. (in the case of the blue hawaii totalling x1000 times gain). The amplification stages will amplify by a fixed amount regardless and independently of the blue hawaii volume control. The blue hawaii volume control simply reduces the input voltage before it is then amplified by x1000. This means any noise on the inputs will also be multiplied by 1000! if you bypass the volume control so you need a quiet pre amp and sources. One thing to be cautious of is, when you switch off anything connected to the inputs of the blue hawaii if thing being switched off creates a thump or generates a dc offset as it is shutting down the blue hawaii will be multiply it by x1000 and sent it to the headphones... THUMP! SIZZLE! So its highly recommended to have the blue hawaii volume at full attenuation before you switch anything else on or off. You can get a similar situation if you switch off a preamp before switching off the power amp in a loudspeaker setup. Other than this their should be no problems and in fact some forum members have built blue hawaiis and similar without volume controls in them.1 point
