  1. My in-laws live in Turkey now and thankfully they are i dunno 400 miles from Adana ... we heard from them before we heard the news break.
  2. learning to make soup dumplings
  3. It's a D10 clone so just as bad as the D10.
  4. I guess I'm planning on going to canjam on Saturday but one day will be plenty. Claire and I just got tickets to see John Zorn Masada Quartet at the Village Vanguard at 3:00pm on Sunday 2/26. Julian Lage is playing guitar for this gig. We had a pretty big Head-case contingent for a Zorn show in SF years ago, and most people doubled down for the second set. This is just a Sunday matinee, but does anyone else want to join? Tickets available here: https://villagevanguard.squadup.com/2022.html Figuring on brunch or lunch with the crew beforehand. Claire and I are having dinner at some friends that night, just FYI.
  5. Bought a new Woodworker II for the table saw and I guess my others were so dull that I have to move the brake cartridge to even fit this new one on. Guess I should have sent them for sharpening a long time ago.
  6. 1 point
    Finally have it on wrist. It’s a stunner. I’m not looking forward to my first scratch. It’s even thinner than the Drive extra flat, but you can definitely feel it on the wrist more.
  7. I have to give props for the naming. Automatic Google search optimization.
  8. You know. That famous amp designer - HiFi CO KR And as always, Thanks for J.C. {our amp and saviour}
  9. Happy low dust Birthday Jeff! Why not enjoy a deck beer (or something else Brent can't have) to celebrate?
  10. Happy Birthday, Jeff!
  11. Big Fun (2022 Remaster) Miles Davis 1974 https://album.link/i/205881623 Example: A Pretty epic listen - I had to take it in two chunks. The original was a 4 song double album. The reissue turns it into an 8 track 2 hour and 22 minute journey. High caliber stuff.
  12. Working on a way to mount a base into this three sided mail tray heading to Missouri. Need to keep the rainbow poplar thick for the best look so might have to cut a rabbet in the poplar with 1/4” left to slot into a 1/4” groove in the maple. Then maybe some space balls to allow for expansion.
  13. She is fast - but happens to be very good as well. Ed: Also, isn't that three things?
  14. it's ok to read a thread from nearly a decade ago and not comment
  15. truly horrible and a major snowstorm on the way
  16. The news gets worse and worse for Turkey and Syria. Another aftershock hit a number of hours ago. Rescue workers are having problems because roads are out. The airport is so full with rescue workers that incoming aid relief are having to wait in the planes on the tarmac until the airport is clear enough. There are those still alive and knocking on pipes from below the rubble waiting for rescue to arrive and relatives digging with bare hands. Made even worse by truly awful weather conditions My heart goes out to Syria too - war torn, and only one open border crossing with Turkey. RIP the thousands who have died. https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2023/feb/07/turkey-earthquake-syria-in-turkiye-2023-live-updates-latest-news-map-magnitude-7-8-scale-quake-tremor-death-toll-gaziantep-kahramanmaras
