  1. My first batch of cinnamon buns was a failure to adapt a bad recipe. This is my second, and it's delicious.
  2. From a couple of weeks ago - breakfast for some distinguished guests who were staying with us. Out of season plums and frozen peaches are both delicious when baked.
  3. Can confirm deliciousness. Claire also baked a ginger cake in Doug's very cool Everhot oven.
  4. I would not have put you down as fan of Scary Spice, but your secret is safe with us.
  5. Maybe they spoke too soon / didn't look at the date on their NDA?, Or want to remix the audio, as there were lots of complaints in the comments
  6. Threaded inserts are held in place by their own threads, so if your concern is that threads in wood aren't strong, the insert doesn't add any advantage. It probably makes it worse. I've found threads in wood to hold up very well. Infinity tools sells taps specifically for wood. Not sure they are any better or different than regular taps, but they exist. https://www.infinitytools.com/wood-taps
  7. use something round and small diameter to push the piston down, then tiny long nose pliers to extract the o-ring. then size appropriately from a selection of o-rings and reassemble the same way.
  8. I got through the first episode. Probably won't continue.

I've found it a fun listening. Heavily influenced by the Police. I missed a bass
  10. Another longtime update. Going through the amp I found that pins 7 and 8 on the phono connector were already jumped. After more thinking and pounding my head, I realised that the ground for the for EVERYTHING but the power/bias section is actually coming out of the phono board connector. In the schematic the ground for PB-300, PB-200 and PB-100 were all connected together with the ground wire coming out of the PB-100 board. For some reason PB-500 ground was connected that of PB-200 instead of PB-100 but anyway. I just rewired so the ground connection is at the PB-200 connector instead leaving the PB-300 connector essentially unwired except for the MAG input. The amp is now working flawlessly and is silent than ever!
  11. There is no Stax mafia....
  12. I guess this was before cultural appropriation was a thing?
  13. Did someone say Bacon?
  14. .. I'm not crying and scared, you are...
  15. I’ve been using the new grinder for 2 days now. I haven’t compared it directly to the niche, I’ve just put it into my morning routine. It took 1 shot to dial it in, and since then, I’ve been quite happy. With my coffee (brazilian medium roast) 18.5 g in 40 g out from my Brezzera Strega lever machine I’ve been quite happy.
  16. The pump on the 820/830 is a serviceable part (if that is the source of the issue). Having serviced the Barista express before, it is possible to repair, if you take your time (and watch youtube). You cannot break it more than broken.
  17. Trade roasters don’t fuck around.
  18. I have to say it does look pretty awesome, like a chunk of Frank Gehry architecture in your kitchen. Enjoy.
  19. it’s a beast. i’ve been messing around on this Black & White El Burro geisha for a month and first v60 with the Lagom today produced far and away the best cup. ridiculously good acidity. the kind where it’s just pure fruit juice. also it doesn’t matter but i am glad i got red speed coating on the burrs because they look cooler with it.
