Off Topic but I found this article quite interesting....apparently owning a Mac can get you laid too! a-dating-site-for-apple-fans-only: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance

Shit, you've gotta have one pair of really steady hands.....I don't think I can shoot any slower than 1/20 with my 17-40L.

Thanks to this thread, I just realized that ISO 6400 is quite usable with my T2i but I'd really like to stay 3200 or below esp for bigger sized shots: ISO 3200 ISO 6400

Here's a few noob pics I snapped yesterday at the beach: Here's one where I bumped the saturation to make the red pop out:

I'm watching Justified as well. I have to admit - I wouldn't mind being Timothy Olyphant! It's a good show but I think Sons of Anarchy is still my favorite.

Pardon the stupid question Jeff but how did you hook up the Pico the the iPad? Is the dock connector compatible with current LODs?

Good deal....I hope you get your money back quickly. BTW, how do you like the form factor of the 6M Dollar Home? I just bought a Kata backpack for my upcoming vacation as I also need laptop and personal effect storage but I might need a sling/shoulder bag for times I just wanna lug my camera and lenses around (and maybe and iPod, portable amp and IEMs). Currently all I have is a Rebel T2i, 50mm 1.8 lens (Fantastic Plastic!) and 17-40 L4 lens.

Haj, it might be a good time to file a paypal dispute.....I know you might have already left feedback but Paypal usually sides with buyers and eBay is totally against counterfeit shit so I would say you have a good chance here.

Naaman, we appreciate your service and most importantly, stay safe out there!

I also booked 1 double bed room for Saturday night at the Courtyard. Anyone who needs a place to crash is more than welcome. Not sure how many people are making it but if we have too many rooms, I can always cancel up to Mar. 6.

Anyone here get a room at the Hilton yet? I looked yesterday and there were not available.

Got my Rebel T2I today and initial impressions are positive. I previously got a T1I but returned it as I felt it was a little noisy at higher ISOs and white balance seemed to be off at times. I'm glad to report that so far, the T2I seems to exhibit a lot less noise than the T1I (I still have a few pics left from when I had it) and color/white balance seems to be spot on. It still has a tendency to overexpose pictures in auto/Av mode but very slight compared to the T1I.

I know it sounds strange Carl but when I was stationed in the San Jose/Palo Alto area two years ago, I remember one of my colleagues saying that East Palo Alto was the "bad side" of Palo Alto. I found it hard to believe at the time but I guess this confirms his opinion.

I'm not sure if it's simpler to order thru a dealer not unless they can do your impressions on-site when you order. The mailman arrived when I was there and around 80% of the packages looked to be EMS/international. The ones I was able to eyeball (sorry, I can be nosy at times) looked like they were from individuals and not dealers which leads me to think a lot of international customers order direct vs. thru a dealer. IMO, there's nothing wrong order thru a dealer as long it is actually more convenient/less of a hassle; if this isn't the case, I'd rather go direct.

So I took the day off today in anticipation of a post Superbowl hangover (luckily I didn't have one).....with some free time on hand I decided to drive on over to JHAudio and try the JH13s again. My impressions are pretty much unchanged and they are still as awesome as they were in CJ09 even in their "universal" fit form. What I did just realize is how a portable amp (I used JHAudio's RSA Mustang) really improves on the sound. They were good coming out of my iPod but amping them gave them more balls, slightly better separation and even better highs. I can't wait to hear these with the Pico Slim. Needless to say, I had my impressions done but I haven't put in an order yet. I'm waiting to see how the JH16s come out. Talking to Adam and the other art dude (I forgot his name), they told me that the 16s have a tad more deep bass without smearing or taking away any clarity. Not that the JH13s seemed to lack bass but I figured I should be smart and wait for the JH16 before pulling the trigger. Per Adam, they should start filling JH16 orders some time mid to late March. In the meantime, I'm gonna start thinking about what kind of color shell and artwork I'm gonna get
