One shouldn't assume stuff about other people's finances. I'd still like to hear the Abyss, though.
  3. Just finished episode 3. Like. The lead actress is amazing.

Happy Father's Day, gents! And hats off to any single moms out there doing both jobs.
  5. I wonder if you wear the HD700's backwards, do they sound like HD800's?

Great season 3 opener! I thought it was hilarious that both Holder & Linden both tell each other that they've quit smoking, as if to show they've moved on from their partnership after not seeing each other for months. The new case is related to a side story mentioned in season 2, but you needn't have watched the Larsen case to jump into this one. Did anyone catch the irony of Holder's girlfriend & the tattoo on his chest?.
  8. This thread has turned hilarious!

Season 2 reruns finished this past weekend & the Rosie Larsen case has been solved. Whew! Season 3 premieres June 2nd with a 2-hr opener.
  10. Do any of these free files work? http://www.2l.no/hires/index.html

Reruns of Season 2 are just finishing up. I love this show. I love how it is shot - every week I feel totally immersed in dark, cold, wet Seattle. On pins & needles waiting to see how the Rosie Larson murder case ends.
  12. Does "Hi-Z"/"Low-Z" on the ECP amp refer to the change in output impedance or to the gain setting?
  13. ^ on vinyl?
  14. Nice to see you posting again John. Blackie's amp looks even better than ever with the upgrade. I imagine the HD800's sound quite nice out of it.
  15. Condolences to you & Jim's family, ironbut. That's so crazy. The kind of story it's difficult to get your head around. Dang.
  16. Anyone here, particularly you steel-frame fans, have an opinion regarding old-school friction shifters?

Good on you, Steve. The "what if that was my Mom?" question is a good check on our behaviours, and one I use a lot lately.
  18. Great pics everyone! catscratch - those EdMika adapters look great & well-made, But it is my understanding that there are issues with focusing to infinity (and mirror contact) with some lens + full-frame camera body combinations. Just FYI.
  19. I love "Happy Endings"! Elisha is hilarious and hot. So sad to see it cancelled
  20. "Luther (Season 2)" - liked a lot, great ending ep, although it felt a bit rushed. "Rectify" - opening ep was interesting. Slow-burn kind of start, which I don't mind. Will continue to see where it goes. DVR-ed the "Top of the Lake" marathon yesterday, so will check that out in the next days.
  21. I liked "Continuum" quite a bit. It has a proper combination of sci-fi & human relationships, with a focus on the latter. Plus your comments re: Nichols' toughness, vulnerability, & pretty are spot on.
  22. Luther (Season 1) - awesome. Couldn't stop watching, so we marathoned the whole first season. This is a prime example of good TV. Alice = love!
  23. Very nice!
  24. Same order as their show the other night: The Sea The Sea (EP): Amy Speace “How To Sleep In A Stormy Boat”:
