  1. ^^^ I'm getting old! Half these bands I don't know..... I also didn't know that MJK had joined A Perfect Ciurcle again, good stuff. Enjoy it! Regarding funny band names, though, I had an old book from late 70's, called "Volume: A Complete Discography of the New Wave" Had some great band names, like NASA and the Sputniks, and one of my favorites of all time: B.O. Smellie and the Honking Bacteria.
  2. That is awesome, I used to love the old Creature Double Features - every Saturday morning, WLVI Channel 56 (Boston) I imagine the MST3K treatment is superb! I got my Stax SR-003's today, in anticipation of Spritzer's SRM-Xh arriving likely next week.....
  3. Congrats from me, too Jacob! Nothing but the best from now and forever!
  4. Definitely liking the apparent speed; my work reach to the internets is sometimes slow, and it is doing much better with this SW version than the last one. And agree re: cleaner look, too!
  5. Jim, can you note any comparison to Hendrick's? That's what I've had most recently.....did open the Blackwoods just to try it, but wasn't the best of conditions, just poured a tiny bit into an OJ glass
  6. Got me some of the gin that luvdunhill asked me to send to him and morphsci; when I special ordered it they only had two bottles for me and I sent them both out, but found another one locally in stock. Haven't opened it yet....
  7. Good stuff, Haj! We were lucky to have a great guy work with us, he did it for us twice with no-points-no-closing. Between the first mortgage and the last, we cut it down from 26 years *remaining on 30) to 15, and cut our monthly cost almost $400. In the right conditions, refinancing roolz. The only bad thing was that the money saved went to something other than music, audio, or booze.
  8. ^^ This is good to hear, and I agree with the sentiment as well; I DVR'd this special last night, need to watch. I have liked, but not more, the album so far.....
  9. ^^^ Dang, that was my favorite part! Truth is certainly stranger than fiction, this is a great story!
  10. Yes, glad you're OK, and hope the other person is ultimately OK too.....
  11. It is truly sad that people feel they need to do these types of actions, especially in such a peaceful place. My heart goes out to family and friends of those lost....it seems so very senseless.....
  12. Truly is wonderful, Shelly.....those types of stories are indeed inspirational. And sorry to hear of the nose, Haj; hope you get/heal well soon!
  13. Got back from a wonderful trip to Bar Harbor Maine, beautiful area! Amongst other neat stuff, picked up 2 4-pack samplers of these: close ups
  14. Just saw this, wasn't really on during a mini-vacation. So sorry for your loss, Al, and your first post was just amazing. My thoughts are with you and the entire family, sounds quite special!
  15. Wow indeed.....I really like the little bit of wood trim, it sticks out in a nice way.....
  16. I have the Cambridge unit, and used to have the Wadia (170, not 171). The remote on the older Wadia was limited in what it could control, I didn't like the (lack of) functionality. The Cambridge isn't a world-beater for functions, but it's better than the original Wadia. The Cambridge is smaller, has more digital out options, will (perhaps awkwardly) fit the iPad, and has the better remote. I can't say if one is better sound-wise than the other, as I never had them side by side. But I like what the Cambridge did, and I liked what the Wadia did, sound-wise. Great recordings sound great, good ones sound good. The Cambridge is sold street price for $300 new, and you may be able to find it cheaper. Personally, I think it's worth the ~$50 more than a used Wadia.
  17. Nice snake! Me (and son): went to a nearby town and got our pic with the Stanley Cup. I got kinda jingly when I got near it
  18. Jim, I'm up for a bottle too if still available! Ever since Duggeh said it was better then Hendricks I've been dying to try it Thank you, and please let me know what I need to do for payment and processing.....
  19. Haj, where specifically are you looking? Yes, it's expensive, but I can ask a couple folks from my old workplace (Kronos) for recommendations if they have. May not be anything better than what you've seen, but who knows..... And by your description of the food/entertainment place, sounds like Kimball's
