^^ Regret at its finest! I didn't love much of her music, but absolutely adored the quality of her voice. I do seem to recall a few videos/interviews where she sang some Gospel, and it was amazing.

Me: going to volunteer with family today at another Bone Marrow registration drive for the Gift Of Life. Our son helped coordinate and run two for his Bar Mitzvah project, and we had a table AT his Bar Mitzvah, where we got 17 new registrations (which is almost 50% of the eligible people who came!).

Looks like a great time! Love those amps on Frank Cooter's table! And glad you got to try the Scotch......very happy to share with those who will appreciate it more than I could. BTW, Mikey looks a lot "cleaner" now than in that Classmates picture

I think 24/192 is a nice to have, at least given the amount of music MOST people likely have in that format. I have two albums in 24/192, nothing else better than 24/96. I copied some hi-rez to a computer I have that has a cheap Diamond sound card that does up to 24/192 out on coax. Using KS or ASIO, they DID sound damn nice. Getting a nice sound card that offers this is a possibility (for laptops, not sure if there is a cardbus or PCMCIA card that does this). It's one more piece in the chain, but I'd also consider a USB->S/PDIF converter that handles 24/192, and not limit the DAC's I seek otherwise.

Yuck, sorry to hear that. Our son scared us with "stomach not feeling well" the other night, but it was somethign else thankfully. But two co-workers' kids have stuff going on. Hopefully all are well soon.....

This just made me remember about a company that created their own interfaces (not thinking Krell CAST, but something else) between preamp and amp, and chose BNC 75 ohm connectors as a result. Used to read about it, and the positive aural benefits, in Bound For Sound. Forgot the company, though.....they made some big honkin' SS amps..... EDIT: found it, PBN Audio, they use BNC as optional connectivity, like their Olypia preamp

Yes, the highs stood out in my listen, but I have heard some I've liked better (Maggie true ribbons, Gallo CDT, and Eminent Technology) Hmmm, maybe the quantity of bass was overloading the room (which was smaller, even if treated), so take my thought on slightly flabby bass with a possible grain of salt. Agreed here; there were many things to like, but I ultimately came away thinking more hi-fi.....very good hi-fi.....but it was more about the technical aspects of the sound, not the music.

Hi all, Did some searching, not really finding definitive opinions/answers for good photo printing sites. We got a DVD of pictures (hi-rez JPG) back for our son's Bar-Mitzvah, with the rights to print for our personal use....we wanted to make a nice album. We'll also investigate specialty photography stores locally, but wondered if anyoine can recommend decent online services. We've used Snapfish and Mpix, and have seen other work from Shutterfly. So-so impressed...... Any thoughts or recommendations? Or would a local place really be our best bet? Thanks, Todd.
