  1. An incredible life and story.....RIP Mr. Grove.
  2. I ALMOST lasted! I used to work with a woman who came from Russia, she had seen him (and even met him; he was apparently quite popular). "They" wouldn't allow him to sing an American song, at least the words, so he took the tune....and the rest is history.
  3. http://www.jmkdisplays.com/cases.html Google Acrylic Display Covers (or cases)
  4. Happy Birthday DOTU!

PS Audio is discontinuing the NuWave Phono Converter and has dropped the price to $999 from $1899. I remember their older phono stage was pretty decent, and this one has an ADC allowing you do rip LP's digitally to 24/192 or DSD. Mighty tempted to try this out.....
  6. Yup, as Al says/implies, we got them - and enjoyed them - here as well. RIP Sylvia.
  7. Hope it's a great day, Larry. A nice watch to start!
  8. Oh, wow fuck fuck fuck.....ELP was my first REAL big musical love. Back in the early 70's, my brother had all their albums to date, and kept getting them as they came out up to and including Welcome Back My Friends.... One of my early favorites was Pictures At An Exhibition, because they covered "Nutrocker" which had become the Boston Bruins hockey theme. And then again, still in my youthful days, finding out that Toccata was used for the Creature Double Feature theme song... I will always remember the image of him with his high boots, surrounded by rows of keyboards, going absolutely nuts playing like a madman.... RIP..... EDIT: WTF? "gunshot wound to the head..."? Oh, gawd.....
  9. Sounds potentially good, Jacob. With those high verbal equivalents, you'll have less people competing with you
  10. Happy Birthday! May all your dreams come true!
  11. ^^ That's been trending on FB as well, VERY cool stuff!
  12. I made a rack very much like this many years back, with white top laminated MDF shelves. I added plastic washers so the nuts wouldn't mark the shelves as badly. I also only used 3 rods, as I liked the tripod balancing (and less holes to drill); even though the back rod would in theory be in the way of the wires, it wasn't bad at all. I did end up putting foam pipe wraps around the back rod, though, so wires wouldn't rub and scratch on the threading. All in all, was not that difficult to do! Gave it away when I moved to our new house, but often thought about making another......
  13. Better safe than sorry, especially with a precious BHSE
  14. That is just lovely! Amp? DAC? Un-drilled something-else?
  15. Good luck Jacob, and nice story about you possibly mentoring. So nice to see a good situation come from a bad one!
  16. RIP.....I think you're spot on, Stretch.....
  17. Wow....RIP Dan, and yeah....fuck cancer.....
  18. Happy Birthday!
  19. RIP @ - man!
  20. RIP Nancy....wasn't always a big fan, but still thought she was an amazing woman.
  21. Lots of chatter on this at H-F, haven't read much though. Did briefly hear it at a NH met last December. Good for the $ IMO, but I think I'd prefer the Chord Mojo for a bit more (I use the Mojo at work)
  22. Happy 40th!
  23. RIP Roy.....I heard several of his speakers "back in the day" (early 80's), some very good products for the time.....
  24. Happy Birthday and Tickety-Boo, Guv!
