The Headcase Stax thread
I've seen, touched and heard the amp Larry, and it sounds wonderful. So sad to see UPS screw up yet another piece of gear. I hope you get it back as close to the way it looked as is possible. The way he designed this amp to come to operating temp so quickly almost had me re-considering tubes, as that was my main quibble previously. Best of luck and keep us up to speed on this. I'd love to hear this amp driving an 009 at some point.

Who Do You Think You Are
Yes Grahame, thanks for mentioning that. I did know that, and like so many good shows these days, we just steal them from your place of birth. It's much easier than having to think for ourselves.

Who Do You Think You Are
This is the third season of this show, and I'm hooked big time! It's just so interesting to me. You get history and personal exploration, two of my favorite things. Tonight is Helen Hunt...off to watch.

OK, you've proved your point...a guy can get an averaged sized unit to to produce a good effect.

If the guy who owns these looks like he needs to fart, RUN! Run fast! And if he uses that for dishes too, decline any dinner invitations.

Larry, I didn't mean to imply by you, and I'm sorry if it sounded that way. I was thinking that this was the amp Marc just sent to you for evaluation, but on second thought I think you've had this one a while? I just know first hand how fucked up dealing with UPS is. Whoever the owner of the amp is I wish him better luck than I've had.

Dinny, first please ask why evolution killed the other glasses, then smash away. Make sure you threaten to kill everyone in the lobby, and please get us a close up of the tasering this time. It's the least you could do.

The analog thread.
The writer says it allows you to press your own records, which is completely wrong. It cuts records, doesn't press them. From that cutting a pressing could be made, but not with that machine. Also you're only going to get as the good as the source material, so unless you want to create a duplicate of a treasured vinyl album, I don't really see the point. An MP3 cut into vinyl is still going to sound as good or bad as the original MP3.

How do you know it wasn't dangerous? Before the taser they also didn't have viruses that could kill or severely affect your life in a very negative way. Every time a cop arrests someone they put themselves at risk. I'm certainly not saying they all make the best decisions in all cases, but I watched that video, and it's hardly clear what is going on from the vantage point of the camera. That girl was hysterical at best, and I beg to differ about the danger level.

Also, you have no idea what happened inside that squad car. She could have been spitting, biting or any number of things.

What are you listening to Part the Third
Discovering new and great music doesn't start by opening the door at your local FYE store, but instead by opening your mind. Congrat for starting an exciting journey.

HD650 scalability?
I can say that the Fidelio L1 is more forward. I think I'd prefer it, but one would need to side by side for a bit of time to be sure. Plus it's not made by Sennheiser!

And now what did you do TODAY?
Very nice Ric. I really liked my Zamp and DA10 from a few years back.

Sounds like a nice K1000 amp too.
