It has now been a week since my 009s were delivered to Accutech/Yama's and I still haven't heard anything. I'm starting to get worried. I called and left a message and sent some emails. I hope they get back to me soon.
-
Has anyone else here dealt with Accutech for a repair? How was the experience? My 009s arrived there on Friday the 7th and I still haven't heard anything from them yet.

RE: new version of the 009s. I've noticed at meets the earpads on some of the newer pairs of 009s are different from my pair. My pair was the first one Tyll measured (SZ9-1207).

The squeal in left driver of my 009s is back and worse than ever so as of this afternoon they are on their way to Accutech for repair. The driver squeal wasn't the only issue I was having and they probably needed to go in for servicing at any rate. Most notably the leather headpad has all but torn loose from the rest of the headphone assembly and is going to need to be replaced as well. I sure hope it doesn't cost and arm and a leg.

So after a weekend of sporadic listening my initial impressions of the X2 are very positive. I'm keeping them. The X2s feel like they are going to work perfect as my office headphone. They are replacing the closed Sennheiser Amperiors in that capacity. Comfort is quite good, but I would still give the HD600s a slight edge in that category. With broken in pads the HD600s I have plugged in to my desktop computer at home just feel fantastic. I haven't weighed both pairs, but I would guess that the HD600s are the lighter headphone. I can feel a weight difference between the two. The X2s are the better looking headphone by a country mile. I haven't done enough head-to-head listening to do much more than cursory sound comparisons between the two yet, but the X2s are clearly the livelier pair. My initial impression is that the frequency response of the X2s has a bit of a "U" shaped feel (slightly accentuated bass and treble) than the flatter feeling HD600s. The X2s still sound neutral, if slightly less so than the HD600s. I think I still prefer the HD600s, but the X2s are no slouch. I'll weigh in again after I've had the X2s for a few weeks to give updated impressions.

Man am I ever nervous. Good luck, Giants!

Damn you peavy. Those were his last pitches as a giant. Are they the last pitches of his career?
-
I wish. As an attorney I just couldn't bring myself to pull any shenanigans in court.
-
Had jury duty this morning... got selected. Goddamn it! At least it is only supposed to be a 3 day trial.
-
I think the better question is will game 6 be BOTH Peavy and Hudson or something like Peavy and Petit or Hudson and Petit. The Fox broadcasters sure seem to think that Peavy and Hudson have struggled badly their third times through the lineup. While I don't know if its because hitters have had a chance to see their stuff, I think Bochy would be wise to have another guy at the ready to take over as soon as things start going down hill for whomever the nominal starter is. That being said, I'm sure Bochy knows what he is doing. If there is a game 7 I think Bumgarner HAS to start it. Not just pitch in relief. You don't want to get him hurt, but flags do fly forever.
-
That was fun. These final scores are a bit deceiving as most of these games have been close up until the end. I have NO IDEA at all who Bochy pitches in 6, let alone 7. I hope I don't have to find out.

R.i.p. Mr. Bruce. For as brilliant as Clapton's guitar line is on "Crossroads," Jack Bruce's bass line is right there keeping pace neck and neck. He was quite a talent.
-
That was intense. I felt like we were one hit away from the game turning in to a complete disaster. Going down 3-1 to those guys would not have been fun. Tomorrow's game is going to be insane. Have a great time, Al!

Hard to win when Buster and Panda combine to do diddly squat.

Speaking of monsters, one of my pet peeves is that people refer to the Frankenstein Monster as Frankenstein. Hasn't anyone seen the movies or read the book!? Frankenstein is the doctor. The Monster is either just "the Monster" or "the Frankenstein Monster."

The Simpsons World website finally launched this week with every single episode they've ever done available for streaming! I know what I'm going to be watch for the next few months. http://www.simpsonsworld.com/

While Strickland was coming in I was telling my Dad that every time Strickland either looks good or is a complete disaster.... Yup.

First blood has been drawn! I got to hear the big first inning and Bum get out of the 2nd and 3rd with no one out jam right before I had to head in to the council chambers. By the time I got back in the car after our agenda item we were tacking on our 6th and 7th runs. It sounds like I caught the good parts of the game I get the feeling if the Giants get game 2 this series might be over before it really gets started. **crosses fingers*** Lets see how things go tonight. MLB would like this to go the distance but I'll take a sweep, please. Gotta love Panda. He is my favorite position player on the team for the joy he brings to the game and for how sneaky athletic he actually is at his size. In the post game interview Dave Flemming asked him what he thought of the noise level of the Royals fans before the game. His response? "Normal, pretty normal, nothing like our fans back in SF." Clearly a lie, but we love you anyways, Panda.

This morning I learned that I have to drive out with one of the partners at my firm from our office in Marin to go to 7PM city council meeting in the central valley. So much for watching game one on TV. At least there should be plenty of time to listen to John Miller and co. call a good chunk of the game on KNBR on the ride out. It beats the hell out of listening to Joe Buck.

Happy Birthday, DC!

You'd think ticket prices would be cheaper seeing as how we've been so often. Totally not the case. Everyone knows what a good time it is and prices are as high as they've ever been. Over the years I've been to every round of the playoffs except the World Series. I know I just bought a new car, but still, I'm going to try like hell to be there! I get the feeling its going to be a great series. I'd love to see the Giants sweep, but the Royals sure look like they come to play and play hard.

Not sure I would ever compare the Ishi walk-off to Bobby Thompson.
