  1. It was really great to meet all of you, and it was our pleasure to host this. Thanks to all the volunteers also, as you made our jobs much easier. Had a great time, especially Saturday nite!

Duggeh, I have a Nokia charger, but it is marked OutputDC 5.7V, 800mA. Higher voltage and current, its gotta sound better, right? I can bring it if you want. Otherwise, I'll theoretically* have one of those lithium charger dealies with me. * assuming I don't forget it
  4. And here I thought someone was just warming this thread up for this weekend
  5. I'd 3rd Colin's advice, and elaborate slightly. Connect the shield to the outer ring on one end only. The end with the shield connected is normally used on the source end of the cable. Looks like a nicely constructed plug.
  6. Too bad about his passing yesterday. I can't believe his wife, which he was in divorce proceedings with, actually tried to tell the judge that he wasn't as sick as he was making out to be. If you saw him on Hollywood Blvd., you could see he was pretty frail. RIP Dennis.
  7. Yeow! Hope you are feeling better (and are better) as well!

Thanks for all of your hard work on these Ed... they look great!

  10. I haven't heard either the McCormack or the Ety's, but both seem to have a rep as solid performers. The Rotel I am familiar with. It uses 2xPCM63 DACs with a PMD100 digital filter. The PMD100 is still very well thought of as are the PCM63s. The output stage can be improved (greatly), but it is a solid CDP. Spritzer had one of these; I have an RCD-991 which is similar (but larger), which I really like.
  11. ^ Please don't... I'm not much of a hockey fan, but Chicago needs to win something sometime

  14. Late 19th century/early 20th century symphonic would be good. Mahler, Shostakovitch, Stravinsky etc. A couple of recordings that I have that are good: Holst/The Planets [url=http://www.amazon.com/Holst-Planets-Gustav/dp/B0000041S7/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1274290533&sr=1-3]Amazon.com: Holst: The Planets: Gustav Holst, Charles Dutoit, Montr
