and now for something completely different part 3
I usually use Modu boxes. They are expensive (I live outside the continent) but they do the job. That heatsink is overkill for a single CFA. Even for 2 CFA's they are still a bit oversized (BIAS 190mA). 24vDC power supply. Use OPA445.

Part Sourcing Assistance/Advice Thread
Besides, there are also companies that close or go bankrupt... I have several grains of sand from Semisouth designed for use in solar panels/conversors AC/DC (and later on amplifiers obviously ๐) that today cost a small fortune.

Add to the list all the sand related to high voltaje. Who said that silicon was expensive?

Get your game on!
It had been a long time since I played with another of my favorite flight simulators. IL 2 Sturmovik It's a shame it doesn't have a clickable cockpit like DCS World. I spend hours flying the "Flying Circus" on the Fokker DR I with t he von Richthofen's red skin.

I really like using the HD800 with the Dynalo Bal ... I think it's a good combination

RIP Sennheiser?
We are talking about a business case about 3M$ (20% for Drop 80% for Senn maybe ยฟ?). I understand that Senn is interested in this type of request and I guess Drop's are clear that if Senn dies, they'll lose a lot of money. Look this; "...Weโll make more available if the capacity increases, but this launch is the only guaranteed HD 8XX availability until 2022."

They also bet on absolutely insane products with huge costs and low sales ... just to prove that they had the biggest penis. Bad policy if you don't have the money to afford it PD. Can i say penis? ๐

RIP Sennheiser?
I have my doubts .... think that the HD600 / 650 were already very old models and were amortized by Senn. Drop has given them a second youth. They have been in the catalog since the origin of MassDrop and have never disappeared. In fact, Drop continue to sell hundreds. If Iยดm not mistaken 59.3K for HD58X and 122.3K for HD6XX... that's a lot of headphones for such a minority market. Although perhaps, the issue of trade margins might be debatable, they still have factories in Ireland or Germany ... while other manufacturers have migrated their production to China. I already have a lot of headphones, but my favorite after the SR007 is still the "modest" hd600 over other most expensive models.

RIP Sennheiser?
It is a pity this kind of news. I have always thought that Senn sells products with an excellent quality/price ratio. I still remember when Antonio recommended the HD600 to me back in 2008...

Yep, it was a lot of fun looking for a tube with the right* gain for this position. *For us, of course.

Megatron Electrostatic Headphone Amplifier
Yesterday, after three years of regular use (from 2018 to now) I measured some voltages for check how my Megatron aged. It is very nice to see that the voltages are still similar to that I did as a reference once finished it. The EL34ยดs glass have gotten a bit darker with use but otherwise my "baby" is perfect. As an anecdotal detail, my preferred valve for the first stage is still E180CC.

I have gotten Shimano adapters for the new style of calipers (flat mount) and have had to modify (with sandpaper and dremel) the rear adapter. I think I can place it these days.

What are you reading now?
I have some books waiting for me. This year will be very, very long again. I'm reading the book about SR71. IMO one of the most beautiful planes in the world. I have been lucky enough to see it twice (and a F14A and others) on the deck of the Intrepid (NY).

I think that in a few days I will be able to start working on my Biachi. I have to check the rear brake mount. I think it only supports 140mm Disc/calipers and I use 160mm on both wheels.
