I've been looking forward to the Pico dac. Stupid question, but is it the same as the dac in the regular Pico, just sans amp, or has Justin changed anything?

Please look at the graph more closely. Buying near the top in the late 20s means a twenty year or more wait to get back to square one if you are looking at the broad market. Also notice the looong drawn out flatline through the 60s and 70s, which pretty much killed the mutual fund market, or whatever it was called at the time. We haven't had a truly bad patch for a generation. People DO NOT have the patience or forsight or historical perspectve to wait through a true Bear.

Well Brice at Sound Odyssey ripped me off and many others at Head-fi. Same kind of pattern. Nothing new about vendors behaving badly through Head-fi. People always make the same lame excuses for them. The person in question "is a craftsman not a businessman". Or "it's worth waiting longer for the finest things". The softminded niceness of the atmosphere there creates a lot of suckers. It ranges from outright fraud to having a cavalier attitude to customers. Not every vendor, obviously. I don't understand why people allow themselves to be strung along so often, treated like rubes, then they get thrown a pathetic scrap through an email they have been waiting for forever and it's "yeah, what a great guy...!"

How could we ever know this either way? Anyway, I read about a study (too lazy to look for it) that found depressive types could more accurately estimate the scores they would receive on an academic test just taken. In this little instance at least, the dark ones were more engaged with reality.

There was nothing particularly offensive about the threads in question. The mods are being a bit heavy handed. I find this place touchy and restrictive. Despite the flattering self-comparison otherwise to that other place. Cutting threads off so soon overreaches authority. Let the threads breath for goodness sake. And why must people be so uninviting to newbies; it's all seems like people are desparate to be in-crowd cool.

Warm up is for real. I hear improvement in sound this way all the time. Burn-in I have no idea, and there is no way of knowing for sure. Anytime someone posts a question regarding burn-in time for a product they just purchased probably just hasn't got around to accepting they made a mistake and don't like it much. Or their ears haven't adjusted yet -- the luckier scenario.

Read some comments about the dac being especially good in the Pico. The real star of the unit. What's peoples experience trying it with their headamps etc. I thought of hooking it up with a glite for a nice little combo, but maybe the lite would be more sideways than better than the internal amp.

Yes, really good. Loved when Cameron walked down the stairs deadfaced/serenely as the two Russians were being killed. Also the bizarre contrast of her wonderful ballet dancing at the end, with the guy watching confused and transfixed at the door. Lots of other cool moments too. I hope this show survives. MOD EDIT: NO SPOILERS DAMNIT!

I didn't like the last episode. I found it slow and repetitive, and the dialog not as good as before. Sort of flat and soap opera. I loved the first ones. Not sure what happened. I turned it off halfway through It seemed to be missing that tension and creepiness it had before.

Yes the commercials ruin the game for me, way too many long interruptions killing the flow and any excitement. Very boring.
