  1. Here is how the above turned out in the end - black on the inside channels and blue on the outside.. now takes about 3 days to cure and then will bolt it on the trailer
  2. Has anyone heard the Russian Viawave ribbons? http://viawave.ru/en/products
  3. I cut down and then modified two pieces of galvanized steel to make a customized winch holder and bow rest - welded them together and painted over the galvanizing - going for a two tone look. Then mast cradle will fit in the channel and help keep the two pieces together. I guess I am literally watching paint dry at the moment.
  4. Here are a few of my projects modified a rigid floor inflatable boat to mount a helm. It’s a bit wobbly - as I just used a square hole washer with teeth and a bit of epoxy. I probably need to run a stringer underneath perpendicular to the two legs and tap a hole there. The issue is I can’t access underneath once the floor is in. So here I had to pull up on the carriage bolts as I tightened them. I also affixed a custom boat registration plate and affixed this Scotty holder to mount the solar powered throttle, wireless. That adhesive is pretty foul stuff, definitely get a nice contact high using it.
  5. I would think that option would pretty low tech.. ok, what about Windows Hello? It’s the facial detection login.
  6. Why not give each user a token and have them use NFC (or plug it into the computer) to switch accounts. Something like: https://www.yubico.com/blog/password-less-login-with-the-yubikey-5-comes-to-microsoft-accounts/ https://support.yubico.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013708460-Yubico-Login-for-Windows-Configuration-Guide
  7. Isn’t that also patented by Larry?
  8. A collaboration with a certain northeastern master semiretired circle hole cutter, I present a panel ammeter that has a plain, not hip rgb light source. working on a second so we can compare two different dials and will play a bit with the LED backlight placement
  9. We can’t have nice parts, but never fear! We can have glass PCBs!
  10. Definitely see how Steve thought that was an XLR Jack and two RCAs
  11. Working on a motor mount.. I probably will cut off the excess above the pipe, but it made the weld a bit easier to do and get everything aligned
  12. Thank you all! It was a nice day!
  13. Ok, thanks! I will just have to do then.
  14. I suppose I can’t park my car on it for a few days and be successful?
  15. Is there anything I can do to remove a twist from a piece of pressure treated pine? My installation won’t put enough force on it to take the twist out. I am using the entire 16’ piece and it started dripping wet and slimy and dried out not so straight ..
  16. No burn in here with 2020 LG GX models.
  17. Next time I will start with something with a vin number though yeah, it was fun to restore - in fact I am working on another one now! I was told by passerbys that I never looked as cool as I when I was grinding metal off or welding. I thinks that’s a complement?
  18. Been working to overhaul a trailer redid the bearings cut off the old bunks used POR-15 for three coats directly on the rust then top coated two coats of OSHA blue re-did all the wiring and lights to get it legal, finally got inspection and the vin number assigned (a three month process, involving appraisal, inspection, weight certificate, surety bond, tons of paperwork and waiting in lines…) Now I am on to working on the front mast cradle again and trying to build in a winch to help with the mast raising process. Had a trial run over the weekend and my trig was off (angles are hard) and line was too short. Rats!
  19. Looks great! So are the support posts? needed to stabilize the building overhang while the extension is being built, or were they sort of an emergency fix?
  20. I refinished the top of this Tice Original the original finish hated HD800 headband material - in fact it destroyed multiple pairs and I had to really sand deep to get the gunk off, GooGone failed me. The new finish hopefully will fair better, it’s cooler in color now except for right on the edges where I couldn’t get all the finish off. Time to put this back into use!
