  1. Yes, cabinets do things. Heh. It's hard to explain, best to grab a sim program and play with it. Are these standard ported cabs or folded or what? Once I get back, if you could get a rough idea of the volume assuming it's nothing fancy in terms of folded or t-line I could so a sim for you. It seems plausible to me, assuming it's a simple ported design. Oh and that guy is a douche...
  2. CL60 seems to be to not be properly sized for this transformer. I'd look at a relay solution if I was going to mess with it, but I probably wouldn't.
  3. Between the Folds (2008) - IMDb
  4. I've finally got around to moving my iPhone to my Mac. It's a clean iTunes install. I just "transferred purchases" and have a question. If I select "sync apps", a scary box pops up and says: "Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone "marce's iPhone" will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library" Ok, but how do I do this and not have the data associated with the apps get clobbered?
  5. I believe the proper term is "jagbag"
  6. In fact yeah the membrane is seperating and I noticed that when I made the cake and didn't think twice about it.
  7. The smell fine and don't float. They've been refridgerated. I've heard that date isn't an expiration date it's a sell by date.. It says "best by 11/18". Gonna crack one open.. They don't hardly smell at all..
  8. Need some advice. I made another rum cake with eggs that expired 11/15. My wife said this is bad. Is it?
  9. I was thinking it was 10.0 x 10^4
  10. You might consider putting a resistor in parallel with C3 in case someone wants to run it with a MM input. Also, a trimmer on the input is lame. Switched resistors (and capacitors) is better. Is Q16 flipped (drain and source flipped that is)? Same with Q14? Is C11 hooked up right? D1, D2 are 15V.
  11. I believe that's 100K 1% 50 ppm.
  12. Check out the old Dynahi threads on HF where people posted a long list of hfe values to get an idea...
  13. I agree if were talking about the MC input stage.. But I'm not convinced the Klyne is 100% discrete and would love to get a closer look at one. Looks like the same gain modules are used in the line pre section. I'm not sure I'd bother with the Vendetta. It has to be hand-built unit by unit and to do this you really need some decent test equipment. I tried to breadboard one and it was very unstable and drifted all over the place. I'm almost positive the glued devices are violet grade. I can give you some part numbers for very nice SOT JFETs that have lower noise than any of the Toshiba parts, but you probably aleady are looking at those.
  14. So, does the Klyne use opamps for gain? Near has to to get the specs quoted. I have slightly different values for things like R30-31 (100K) but that doesn't matter. It would be useful to note Idss grades for the unobtaniun ... Err JFETs if you have good pics that can read the markings.
  15. I think I have a plan. My goal would be to play one (or both) de Beriot pieces: or I'll also brush up: Bach: Sonata No.1 in G minor – Presto Bach: Sonata No.3 in C Major – Allegro Assai I'll do Hrimaly for scales and Dont for etudes
  16. cool, needless to say I like the bag. I haven't used it yet though. It's actually not insanely huge that I would feel out of place carrying it as a laptop bag with some books and what not to the library. So, I like that.
  17. Comment retracted. I'll let Kevin comment on the PSU
  18. The Xono can be DC coupled. Mine is that way. Perhaps you can notice the jumpers in this pic (which are open) near the output caps: As for balanced input, I believe the Ayre P-5xe is. Here's a pic: Finally, I'd be interested in a schematic for the Klyne phono preamps. They have items encapsulated in little potted enclosures though, so you'd have to bring it into the lab I suppose:
  19. ah the 2SK147/2SJ72.... Should C6, C7 connect on the other side of the R22, R23?
  20. I take that back. There are a couple i've played now that I think about it. I've been meaning to PM you... (and other DC folks). I'll be in DC 8 days total in Jan split up over two trips, so we should catch up.
  21. yeah, Rode Caprices is a bit above my ability. I'm looking for something between Kreutzer and Rode. Perhaps you know someone that might have a good recommendation? There's also Fiorillo, but I've never played any of those... Here's a link to the (easy) Dont: http://www.scorage.ru/view.aspx?id=17ADA42217F5431A9DD321D57CB66DB1
  22. I'm working that out. Probably Dont op. 38 (the easy one) or Sevcik. The Auer looks really solid in fact, I might just do that. I'm getting more motivated to get back into it...
  23. Messed around with Hrimaly. I really like it. Nice change of pace. Justin, have you ever gone through the graded Auer books? I'm considering those as well.

damn, I just bought a remote thermometer... I would have totally bought that.
