  1. That VC is quite nice. Reminds me a bit of Grand Seiko, which isn't a bad thing in my book.
  2. Seeing your picture Spritzer reminded me: I just bought a 100 ohm 0.005% .2ppm/C tempco resistor to see what my Keithley DMM reads. Has anyone tried to calibrate one of these, or verify its spec?
  3. Received and ordered!
  4. Ok, so strange. They interpreted the swell as negative board "cladding" (whatever the term is)? Anyways, it will work fine, but didn't expect the large non-blue areas around the TO-3 pins on the top layer. Next need the gage jack parts from Mouser for my next demonstration.
  5. The Japanese do seem to be part-hipster, can I say that?
  6. Well, compared to the 250,000¥ price tag on the high-end stuff The bartenders I spoke to said that Yamazaki 18 at $300 US is a good buy, in Japan. So, don't be so quick to blame the hipsters
  7. Looking at the prices in Japan, I don't think we should be so quick to blame the hipsters. I think the Japanese are re-importing the stuff Grabbed some low brow stuff
  8. Does the 16 have a similar flavor profile to the 14? I know the 14 was only around for a short time. I would guess it's sherried, but I can't find anyone online describing it that way.
  9. Probably should round out Naaman's wish list:
  10. A chaser of Scapa 14
  11. Yoichi 15
  12. Yeah, looks pretty cool, though I couldn't really figure out everything from the card provided https://vimeo.com/152405054
  13. Ok, this is a bit better
  14. Currently waiting for my kids as they play in a "cat cafe" in Tokyo. :/
  15. Yeah, Pass is more about the engineering that goes into the design with a nod towards simplicity. That makes "value" a difficult concept Here are the intervals of the First Watt F7 as case in point.
  16. It's a front end. BJT cascoded JFETs with MOSFET voltage gain. The relay is for switchable feedback loop.
  17. Placed an order for a board with Elecrow (used PCB Way for a mating design) that looks something like this. The two odd sets of connectors on the far left are board-to-board connectors that I'm trying out from Mill-Max
  18. Heh, you are free to use vitola AND marca though cigar snobs that use them are typically annoying I have found
  19. I think the Rafael Gonzales label might be a bit nicer, especially in that vitola. I hate people that use that word.
  20. A fantastic Magnum 46. Need more room in my tuppador.
  21. Omakase. First course Couple more courses
  22. The right way to mount a TO-3 package is with a shoulder washer on the bottom and then using a ring connector to attach the case to the circuit. I am trying to do it another way. It will make more sense when I post some pictures
  23. I just make them myself. The usual suspects won't do them because the piece has to be turned to a 90 degree side. There is a special countersink bit for socket head screws that makes it pretty easy.
