"I’d buy a used 1 series taylor, or a used composite martin first. Next down the list would be a used Seagull, then at the bottom, a Yamaha. All of these can come with electronics." He also gave me the advice priorly -- which I ignored, and learned the hard way was good advice -- always buy an acoustic in person, always try it first. You seem to be already doing that. PS I was kidding about the Martin and the Daisy Rock in the prior post. I blame alcohol.

Well would you look at that. Huh. I should say, if I had anything with a built-in tuner, I'd definitely sell it to you for cheap, but alas, I don't. Besides, I suck at shipping stuff. Which one? I'll take a look-see. EDIT, never mind, found it, try these: Used: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/Yamaha/A1R-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar-113921793.gc http://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/Martin/Vintage-1955-D28-Acoustic-Guitar.gc http://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/Takamine/GB7C-Garth-Brooks-Seven-Signature-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar.gc New: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez/Talman-TCY10-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar.gc (I have a soft spot for Ibanez Talman series of guitars, but they're not for everyone, definitely a good choice trying before buying.) I have a query to my friend who indirectly gave Jeff some good guitar-buying advice, I'll see what he recommends. ...and then buy this one: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/Daisy-Rock/Retro-H-Hollow-Body-Electric-Guitar-113659184.gc

Alright, that's an answer, too. Pedant.

More Les Paul jokes would make this thread more appealing and less apauling...as well as less appalling. Some people think JH13 is the answer to everything. It isn’t, it’s the question. ‘Yes’ is the answer.

So, except for those last two, I don’t see the problem.

“Built-in tuner”? I don’t know what that means, I presume you mean a pedal, so that you can tune silently. If it’s an electro-acoustic, it’s still not going to be silent. Please feel free to correct me if you mean something else. Your best bet is one of those clip-on-the-headstock tuners, my friend uses those even on electrics. That said, I see Guitar Center has about half a dozen PRS acoustics on used for under half a grand, and they all have one of those acoustic pickups, I think. If there’s anything wrong with it, just take it to your closest one and return it. I’m also really fond of Ibanez archtops, they have a bunch, too. Ibanezzesses Looking at this list, I’d look at Ovations, too, but that’s a very particular sound and not for everyone. Also, the curved bout makes it awkward to balance in one’s lap.

Vikings' answer to Eurovision? "Castlefest"? I don't know, but I find it mesmerizing.

(paraphrased from Oathbringer, because I'm too lazy to go and look up the exact quote) "What", hummed Pattern, "is a chaperone?" "A chaperone is someone who accompanies two young adults and prevents them from doing anything...inappropriate." "Like dividing by zero?" I don't know why, but I found that particularly hilarious.

Stuck on Chelsea Wolfe -- I originally discovered The Abyss, but now I've developed a love of Pain is Beauty and Apokalypsis especially (but all her albums, just especially those two), after this video made me check out Pain is Beauty which led into Apokalypsis (via YouTube autoplay): ...and Hiss Spun has made it into my top albums of last year. Found out she's opening for Ministry in April...I might have to go to that.

No, I meant reflective, and I meant the gel like material. Glass has a very hard reflective surface, acoustically, hence Marc’s comment, but I imagine gel would be a little better, like putty.

Lebanese/American steak and cheese Let me explain -- I go to this Lebanese restaurant all the time, Raouche Cafe. They sell things like kabobs, shwarma, stuffed grape leaves...and steak & cheese. It seems kind of odd on the menu, but there it is. I really love the beef. It's practically steak. Plus they marinate it in this secret recipe, and it's just divine. So I asked him to make me a steak and cheese, only with the marinated shwarma beef. They did. This time, I asked him to make me the beef shwarma wrap (the steak and cheese is a wrap, too, that's the one Lebanese thing about it), only add lettuce tomato grilled onions and cheese, I.E. a hybrid Lebanese/American shwarma beef & cheese. It was so fucking good. SO FUCKING GOOD, I was giggling.

Yeah, the no power steering situation was kind of weird -- it's a straight shot down 395/95/Rt. 1 from my work to my home...up until that turn into the neighborhood, so I didn't fully understand what I was missing until I hit that turn...had to brake sharply. Yes, I was thinking the same thing -- get it checked out anyway.
