Well that clinches it, doesn't it? That said, they really captured the vibe of covers from that era pretty well, don't you think? Big oops on the UPC though.

I was stuck in the can at maximum coverage, so only caught it on the wane, but I still caught it, and it was cool! I'm so glad my co-worker urged me to go outside and experience it for myself, it's entirely different than seeing a picture of it, even partial.

Wait, so "...when the moon hits your eye like a big piece of pie..." are the real lyrics?

It's perfect just the way it is. Hue and shade. Not sure how much darker, but I would allow it, as long as it could still be called in the "pink" colour palette. I wanted this guitar purely for it's colour: ...alright, and because it looked "metal", but I hardly play any metal. But I didn't get it, because I wasn't about to buy a guitar, sight unseen, without any knowledge of its musical abilities, for US$3500. -

Oh my purple heart...It's so fuchsia! Too bad it's white on the inside, I'd probably get cat hair all over it. Uh...no, I can't afford it, he just knew I'd like the colour. Apparently the only other person who'd want a car in this colour -- the owner -- also has a Rolls Royce in this colour. Fuck that guy. XD -

Berilia, Tubul, Great T'Phon, and Jerakeen will be disappointed to hear. Unrelated: Look how happy this bug's arse is: -

Steven Wilson, To the Bone RIYL the poppier side of prog, the proggier side of pop (Tears for Fears, XTC, etc.)

Being unfamiliar with the vocabulary, myself, it is a little harder to get into, emotionally, at first, but as I scrutinize it enough to figure out what he's doing, it gets a little easier and fun.

It's 12 albums so give me some time to get through it all, and that's just the first time -- I actually got it from HDTracks during the last sale. If you're unfamiliar with his music in general, the best word to describe it is "modern". It's very fusion-y, with lots of esoteric chord progressions and synth guitar. Also: that's cool! Who's you're teacher, if I may ask? It's not Bill DeLap, is it? His signature Carvin is one of those headless ones, and he was also famous for playing Steinbergers, which were also headless. So yeah, you got that right.

Well if he becomes Matthew Sweet the pirate, I'm going to blame you.

Happy birthday, Ian! (party favour noise) Come visit us more often, we miss you.

Allan Holdsworth, The Man Who Changed Guitar Forever, the album collection. I like jazz. XD I was just posting elsewhere about how I had no idea how good he was while he was in Marillyn Manson until I found out he had a signature tele, and went looking.

Understood -- Smooth Jazz is a whole 'nother genre. That's not jazz. Mikey is, of course, referring to jazz which is smooth. What I refer to as smoov jazz, for no other reason than to differentiate from that Muzak sounding tripe. (But I also recognize that it hasn't taken on as an expression.)

Was: Klaus Schulze, Androgyn RIYL: Klaus Schulze, although this is one of his best new releases in years. It's very mellow, even for him. (A lot of his releases are either synthesizer noodling over a sequence, or weird collaborations with vocalists or other instrumentalists like cellists.) Is: Eno, Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy and Before and After Science
-
Bjorn Riis, Forever Comes to an End RIYL: Pink Floyd, Pineapple Thief, Airbag (of course -- that's his band)

Outstanding! Having had my bloodwork interpreted recently, I actually understood the ramifications of all those numbers.
