  1. Yeah, I'd agree with their interpretation of the ending, absolutely. But I still didn't find it as cathartic or horrific as the ones I ended up preferring.
  2. Yeah, I'm confounded, too. Everything about what she did stinks. Why did she lie about what she was going to do, if it was legal, or even her job? When my sister was in Sofia, she had to send my Bobby to me in America, because the stray cat population was so huge, most people felt the same way as she did -- that they were nothing but a problem. But in America? In Texas? I wouldn't be surprised if she lost her job elsewhere from doing the same thing. WTF is wrong with people? I would contact the police -- they're probably "reacting" because she's the one who called them (...first), if you can calmly and clearly indicate to them your side of the story, I think they wouldn't be so quick to give you a hard time, and maybe even go back to her about the wrong she did in this matter.
  3. One nice thing about mixlr -- once you start a showreel, it'll load until it caches the whole thing, so even if you lose internet later, you can still play that entire showreel. I've taken to "cache-ing" several shows (I'm up to 6 or 7) and cycling through them for the entire week. At least, on my desktop -- don't know how it works on the phone.
  4. (squints) I don't think that's...
  5. I probably liked that first episode the least -- I just didn't "get" the ending, and I don't think they did neither. I think they just wrote something, I was happy enough with the premise and most of the story arc, they just didn't know how to conclude it. I think they knew that, too, and that's fine. They certainly more than made up for it with all the other episodes, from "Playtest" on. "San Junipero" was by far the most affecting. But I have to admit, "Hated in the Nation" had me on the edge of my seat. So...yeah...all of them.
  6. Black Mirror season 3 -- good goddamn, best season yet, by far. Just astoundingly good, every episode.
  7. I, too, would like the name of the shelter. I donate to a couple organizations that investigate and campaign against shit like this. Feel free to PM me if you'd rather not post the information publicly.

    Why would he want that?

Thandi Newton and Evan Rachel Wood were both phenomenal in this episode. "Limit your emotional affect, please." I actually shuddered at that transition. And then, before I even have a chance to catch my breath, "Why would I want that?"

I find myself giggling at least once per episode.

Episode 4 music, besides soundtrack: player piano cover of "A Forest" by the Cure at 53:30 "Habanera" from Carmen, Bizet
  12. Wouldn't that have to be brown supremacy? And I learned my H8 on the street, don't need no fancy degree for that...
  13. (follows discussion with interest)
  14. There's a certain beloved forum member who's a big animal rescue advocate -- we call him the cat whisperer -- and there are several of us who have adopted exclusively rescues -- I would call us "satellite" animal rescue advocates -- so the overwhelmingly positive reaction does not surprise me.
  15. Was trying to watch Truckfighters live on Facebook, but ( a ) their microphone was completely overwhelmed, and ( b ) their connection kept hanging up, and it wasn't anything to speak of in the first place. Alas, looks like a good show, though, I'd definitely like to see them if I ever get the chance (they're from Germany, so they'd have to become big enough for that to be worth it, which it isn't for most bands).
  16. I <3 this thing you are doing. Very impressed that they're already beginning to use it.
  17. Happy birthday! (party favour noise)
  18. I'll take you all's word for it that such a thing exists, but until I taste such a biscuit, I will be standing by my opinion. EDIT: I take that back. You all are the same crowd that think Crisco is the greatest thing for cooking, and I just don't appreciate Crisco the way you all do (childhood memories of your ma's baking aren't as hallowed as yours?), so on the one hand, I do believe that you all prefer biscuits to corn bread, but on the other, I think you're wrong that I'd feel the same way.
  19. Is that what it is? Is that why I don't "get" Brent's love of biscuits? I have had good biscuits (by my standards), but I don't catch myself ever saying "that's a really good biscuit". No matter how good it is, it's still just a biscuit. Cornbread, on the other hand...I have actually said it more than once about one particular cornbread recipe (Hard Times in Rockville -- the chef was experimenting a little bit, threw in some dessert-y type spices -- cinnamon? Whatever it was, it was really subtle.).
  20. Might as well be -- good corn bread >> good biscuit. EDIT: Actually, I should probably ask first -- can Brent have any? No? Then it's a biscuit.
