Gotta agree. Seminal. Which three? For complicated reasons, "Vengeance (The Pact)" was written for the film, but not used, because it kind of ruined the vignette by telling the story in the lyrics and would've been impossible to write an animation to. So I presume #1 is "Veteran of the Psychic Wars". The other two? Me: a bunch of underground shoegaze: Momentary, Distressor Darker Days, Pale Shade In the Interim, No Sun For Ever Six Times (Vinyl Version), Another Heaven Solace, Hex

Well...let's look at "Souvenir" (from his The Concerts in China album) -- his ground-breaking trip to China from all accounts was full of joy and positive memories...so why does "Souvenir" sound so sad? Answer: because he's French. It doesn't sound sad, it sounds French. I have this from my History Of Music professor. Back to Rendez-Vous -- this album was also the one with the ill-fated saxophonist Ron McNair who was supposed to record his part from space...on the space shuttle, Challenger. I think that might've flavoured the overall tone of the album.
