  2. Yeah, Patton Oswalt is another favourite. I agree, it's a good time for stand-up. I will check out Tom Segura.
  3. Add Forever and Gotham to my list, totally enjoying them. Gotham just (ep 3) turned into a black comedy, and I just really like Ioan Gruffudd and would watch him in anything. He's just got that posh British accent that I could listen to for hours. Really liked him in Ringer, which was the first place I saw him.
  4. When shopping a dishwasher, make sure you check out the internal layout -- that's the one thing that my ex hates about hers -- it's blissfully quiet (you forget it's on until it clicks and changes cycles) and plenty efficient, but it's almost impossible to overfill (which, now that I think about it, is probably by design).
  5. Let me know if you decide it takes three people.
  6. Yeah, ditto, although I can probably only do weekends.
  7. Okay, I was wrong, the person who knew how to fix was not too busy to read this thread. Seconded on dumping them and getting better.
  8. Yeah, no, sorry, I meant Monster-branded anything. I like (lower-case em I.E. non-branded) monsters, too. I googled "monster train wreck", and the image of Lindsey Lohan showed up in the results.
  9. No-one here owns Monster headphones, and those few that could figure it out probably don't care enough to read this thread and/or do it for you. Your best bet is to figure it out for yourself -- use an ohmmeter to figure out which wires are totally not connected to the others (infinite resistance), and which are actually doing something (less than infinite resistance), the run some ac signal through it to figure out what they do. Or check head-fi.org. I personally boycott Monster anything, except the energy drinks, just because they are ludicrously letiginous.
  10. Louis C.K. is easily my favourite standup. I was laughing so hard during the shit-covered child thing, I was sure I was going to have an aneurysm.. Gaffigan is a close second. Uganda was actually very funny. She's completely blue. I'm talking NC-17 photographic evidence blue. Adding Forever and Gotham to my regular watching. I really like the actor in Forever from RInger, he definitely deserves his own show. He's got that accent that muggle women probably swoon over and men wish they had, I could listen to him do a totally mundane soap in which he had to carry every scene.
  11. Upscale audio isn't famous for being cheap, neither. Just a datapoint.
  12. Happy birthday, Marc Eisensomething (as you are listed in my phone)! Hope you manage to celebrate some today!
  13. Oh? Do tell. And if you haven't already, try Premiata Forneria Marconi -- The World Became the World is a good place to start.
  14. He's great live. I've seen him several times as well.
  15. It is, but I've always had a soft spot for Silvertone, since it was my first exposure to him. I have a soft spot for his second album, too, since it was easier to find. In fact, I need to go on a Chris Isaak binge...
  16. Pineapple Thief, Show a Little Love, Little Man (remaster), What We Have Sown, One Three Seven, Magnolia (previously purchased 10 Stories Down, Tightly Unwound, and Variations on a Dream) -- catching up on purchases, I've decided they're my favourite current band. Yes, more than Porcupine Tree, and that's saying something Lunatic Soul, Walking on a Flashlight Beam Yes, Relayer (chuckletrousers* edition) Pink Floyd, Endless River Amplifier, Mystoria *chuckletrousers edition == affectionate term for Steven Wilson's remasters
  17. Yup, the three I grabbed were scheduled to be euthanized because they were owner surrenders and the place had run out of room. They were holding them in their carriers. Better to turn 'em down than to take them in and kill them later when they run out of room, which is the policy of a lot of shelters. I really wish TNR was more ubiquitous. But even that's not the right answer for a lot of cats (these were seniors, so were probably dead meat if returned to the wild).
  18. Thanks again everyone! Yeah! I've got an eclair going stale in the fridge. I'll just take a lactaid or something...
  19. Was it Baker Street? I thought it was RIght Down the Line, which is why I mentioned that one. Fixed. EDIT: Doh!
  20. A year?!? Yeezh. Me: I volunteered to -- and did -- transport 3 cats away from a shelter to a vet for a rescue organization. I guess I'm an honorary Fancy Cats Rescue Team member now.
  21. Cats?
