  1. Ah, okay, the whole "hackintosh" aspect of it.

  8. Robert Reed, Sanctuary -- more Oldfield than Oldfield!
  9. We do not condone cruelty to snapping turtles, that was probably just sarcasm. Probably. Maybe. Probably not, really, actually now that I think about it, but don't do it.
  10. Yeah, it's kind of like playing the walk-on music for a band and saying, this is what the next album is going to sound like, isn't it? But here's to hoping that there's more of that spacey-ness where that came from. Cheers to all the bokeh.
  11. Agreed. Dan's looks good, too.
  12. New Lunatic Soul due October
  13. Scott Walker and Sunn O))) to collaborate
  14. Had to move the 1920x1200 to the work laptop, so I pulled out the LG 2560x1080 for the personal laptop -- this thing is nice! It's the little little brother of the "I'm done with 4K" ultrawide monitor (the regular little brother is the 34UM65, which is 2560x1080 @ 34", whereas mine is 2560x1080 @ 29"), the pixel pitch must be pretty damn high. I'll definitely be lusting after the 34UM65 for a while. ...with a caveat -- laptops usually only have one of certain ports (HDMI, DisplayPort), so maybe for a laptop "extension" screen -- one big one. Unless one very carefully selects one with a very capable docking station.
  15. I was never very involved in the DIY segment, but I remember the names of the amps you mentioned, and how popular they were. And I certainly take your and Nate's words for it. Sorry for the threadcrap. Regarding memory -- dude, I'm lucky if I can remember what day of the week it is any more, much less my own name.
  16. I have a Cheerwine.
  17. Honestly, I just don't want to contribute to Intel's virtual monopoly.
  18. I disagree -- yeah, sure, if the program knows how to benefit from multiple cores it can do something, but there's something to be said for sheer speed in a couple things I do.
  19. I don't know, AMD has put out some 8 core CPUs that go > 4GHz, I really want to put a build together around one of those.
  20. What it is?
  21. Knights of Sidonia -- hermaphrodites (?word? ...humanoid bipeds with hermaphroditic qualities) that photosynthesize, and the boy who loves them, and the tentacled space alien that attacks them...(shudders)...
