  1. He only growls a little bit, mostly sings clean, and even then, it's not full cookie monster. It's when he does vibrato that he sounds like Dennis. And how can you say he's not interesting, he's fabulously entertaining. Watch the Waken video, it's fantastic. I love his self-deprecating sense of humor. "Oh look there's a girl." "We're all ripping off Meshuggah." "Time to get nerdy!" "I have a small penis."
  2. Who are you and why are you using Colin's account?
  3. Hey, that reminds me, Chris, you mentioned caribbean bbq sauce -- any brand in particular?
  4. Saviour, Lights Out, Planetary Confinement, and Alternative Matter are all right up there. One of those groups that when I go back to them, I wonder why I don't listen to them more often. They're just like so little else out there. EDIT: Listening to Saviour now -- it's a bit less moody, rockier. I still love it a lot more than Fear of a Unique Identity, but for entirely different reasons than Lights Out and Planetary Confinement.
  5. WTF, man?!? They totally stole my idea.
  6. Ah found mah purple guitar: Aye keed, aye keed...
  7. Yeah, that seems pretty expensive for what is essentially a milk crate. I use boxes, but I happened to have stumbled upon a bunch that are the perfect size, and I threw them out the last move, so I have no idea what I'm doing next time. I suppose I'll take a couple records to a box store and see which one fits best. And IIRC, you don't want cubical, you only want square and the third dimension to go about 6 - 10 inches (depending on your strength and the strength of the people helping you -- I had some out-of-shape people helping me, so I tried to make smaller loads)...much less the strength of the boxes. link You're going to put them on shelves once you get there, right? Oh, and yeah, I totally broke down and bought the purple turntable.
  8. Shish Tawouk (chicken kabob) from Raouche cafe.
  9. Yeah, I know, I had done the notify thing, too. But I has no moneys, so hopefully it won't sell out until I do (however, if it does, no big, it's US$100 more, so will probably just get the non-Dino Jr. variant).
  10. Yeah, I didn't learn nothing on the double black diamond other than how to take a fall ... actually, come to think of it, that was really useful on the 'field of moguls'.
  11. Did you say you were thinking of getting a Les Paul next? zZounds just sent me an email about extremely limited runs of certain Gibson models, and this one is just beautious: There's a couple others.
  12. It obviously runs on a hybrid of black hole and Maxwell's demon technology, with a little bit of entropy reclamation thrown in the mix... ...or perhaps it's mostly entropy reclamation, with a little bit of black hole and Maxwell's demon technology on the side...
  13. Dew et. I don't have one but ... look at all those angles! So sexy...plus, designed for nearfield listening, and I would suspect so.
  14. I was about to come in here and post the same email: Server appears down from here as well. I guess (# of fans) >> (server load handling capability).
  15. More of this. Great for working/concentrating. I'm sussing backbone.localStorage as we speak.
  16. I like firm. Firm. FIIRRMMuh. My favourite "bed" was one of those workout mat (think yoga mat) on a concrete floor. I got my mattress at Ikea -- they keep changing them, though, I don't think you can get my favourite one any more. It wasn't particularly heavy for a twin, the one I got for the queen bed I use now was a little heavier. (shudders) @ Torpedo's "whore bed" description -- yeah, I'd hate that too.
  17. From mah favourite food truck, Chitti Chitti Grill, spicy chicken with rice and kimchi with 'make you cry' hot sauce -- not crying, but goddamn is it delicious.
  18. I'm right there with you, Ric. Her and Ann-Margaret.
  19. I <3 Antimatter so much. They're unlike hardly anything else that is out there (some Ihsahn, perhaps, some Anathema). Now listening to Planetary Confinement which is also top notch. I've got 'em on my iPod, but I'll see if I can find the source...
  20. Lollers. That's fucked up.
  21. Antimatter, Lights Out -- sublimely low key album, RIYL Pink Floyd's more atmospheric moments
  22. Is that for basting or for getting basted?
  23. Yeah, I remember, I looked back through the thread...musta been a different thread.
