  1. I want to say, also reminiscent of Sorayama. Don't remember title, but "Hanging Ukiyoe" looks similar. I want to say there was an even earlier one that was more iconic of him. Possibly a book cover. Warning: NSFW. In fact, it's pretty hardcore.
  2. Rob Dougan's "Pause" -- shares more in spirit with Batt's piece -- I.E. as "punctuation" -- than with Cage's.
  3. I just bought one on eBay. Of course, I haven't received it yet, so...maybe not.
  4. I used to work with this one lady, and since I was the designated computer person, and she knew me well enough, she told me her password. It got to the point where I had to enter it again, and I turned to her and asked her to repeat it. She did. This continued. She must have told me -- and I typed -- her password a dozen times, and I could never remember it. As far as I'm concerned, that's the perfect password. She even told me the trick -- it was something like her daughter's second letter of her middle name, followed by the second digit each of her birth month, day, and (2-digit) year, followed by the second letter of her maiden name...etc. Bunch of things that meant nothing to me, so a individualized mnemonic.
  5. What about under-ear?
  6. Why? I mean, I know, but just want to make sure you've fully thought this through. I know some of the older Macbooks have firewire, why not just go external for that sort of thing? Also, there are hybrid drives -- another alternative.
  7. Dusty Chalk replied to blessingx's topic in Music
Yeah, really liked that. Zoe's performance at the 32 minute mark is amazingly beautiful -- it only takes her about 30 seconds to set up something that stops being "looped layers of melody lines" and turns into music, proper. And yeah, the guys were interesting, too. They tread pretty closely to that line of pretentiousness without crossing it, I thought. And still very entertaining.
  8. Thai cajun? Sounds intriguing -- two great tastes, but I've not tried them together. Me: Jalapeño Jack SunChips® -- quite possibly my second favorite flavor yet, the Peppercorn Ranch has yet to be ousted. And of course, I never see either one around here regularly.
  9. Jacob -- remember, this is the guy who has a terrafarm behind the router. Crappy -- I know you're smart enough to know this, but just to be sure -- just because emails were sent from your accounts, doesn't mean that your accounts were actually compromised. In fact, a lot of times, someone who has you in their contacts is the one compromised, not you. What other evidence do you have that your emails -- or even your computers -- were the ones actually compromised? If you're sure, my primary response would be the guessing of passwords as has already been suggested.
  10. Happy Birthday!
  11. I have to say, I have mixed feelings. If they're allowed to run like a wholly owned subsidiary, and they don't do anything evil, I'll probably continue to buy them. Why? Is it a caps thing? Is it red? Srsly, how is it? (The drunk glass, not the worn glass.)
  12. Continued high hopes for Ollie!
  13. You read that wrong -- he doesn't have the robots, he's looking for them. If he had to build them, that would be a bit redundant.
  14. And duplicators! Er...I mean, replicators!
  15. Holy shit, Todd, nice car! I really like the color.
  16. My ex has me beat -- she was on vacation, and she read all four books in three days. I've started reading The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. It's her tween-targeted series. So far, so good, but kind of predictable (I'm sure she'll fix that eventually). It answers the question, How do you make a short, stuttering, late-blooming teen charismatic? By getting insider her mind and showing how she thinks.
  17. Congrats, Perfessor! So do we call you Prof. Morphsci from now on?
  18. Excellent.
  19. That's a pretty simple little 'cocktail'.
  20. LOL at picture on the second shelf.
  21. Preferred Automotive guy made good -- he's comping me the whole thing, so my appreciation for them definitely goes back up. I'll be back.
