I listed to the udac on my old m3 with balanced hf1s and hf2s, and single ended hp2s. It's a nice little source.

The reason is, as stated, the analog stage. This is true of every dac. The chip is perhaps the least significant difference between various sources. The analog stage is everything.

OpenCL for the mac, anyway won't have to be supported by the app, it'll be supported at a base level by the operating system.

I think you want the phono stage as close to the turntable as possible, as that's where you have the lowest level signal, so noise has the greatest chance of causing problems.

Pico DAC is exactly the same as the dac portion of the pico amp/dac. Same upsampling, same usb input restrictions, etc.

If you regularly have wifi access, the ipod touch is a great compromise. Visual voicemail is a great feature, but not essential. Google voice simulates it really well

Went on a 5 mile hike with my kids and our 4H club along the appalachian trail up near harrisburg. In the middle was the midpoint of the trail. Was a good time, if tiring. I had no warning, my wife woke me up at 8, and said I had 20 minutes to get ready and be out the door to get there.
