That's great if what you want canjam to become is a small part of a big trade show. It's not so great if you want canjam to be the place where headphone enthusiasts gather and gab. I'm glad there's a giant headphone section at RMAF. As someone who actively supports the community building aspects of the meets, tho, I'm not as happy about the canjam at RMAF monicker. Things like this could potentially kill canjam as a big deal all together.

Part of the point is the added depth significantly improves the sound. But I'm sure you could go over to head-fi, and contact jmoney audio (forget his username) and hire him to do something similar but in a shallow depth.

It doesn't look the same as other grado headphones, but is in no way "unfinished", and given that it's in my opinion the best sounding grado, I'm certainly not complaining.

It all depends on the songwriting credit. I think the logic is this: Music performances on the radio are advertisements for the artist, and music performances that are live are generally done for pay by the artist. The songwriter gets paid for these performances, because he/she isn't there to get paid otherwise. When recordings are sold, the artist gets paid, because people are buying THAT performance of the song. It works out pretty fairly, in practice. The unfairness in most recording contracts is that royalties aren't paid until "label production costs" are paid. Until a recording sells in the 100k units range, the artist isn't going to make a dime. The way around that is to spend less producing a record, or hold out for a better contract.

Performers get paid for units sold, authors (or their rights holders) get paid for performance of their songs.

My experience is subsonic loads and a dry supressor are fairly quiet. It's not "silent" but it's not identifiably a gunshot, and it's not dangerously loud.
