No, he just fucked up. He was on a legal drag strip, he doesn't have a coffee can exhaust, he didn't hurt anyone but his own car. And he paid for his repairs. *shrug*
  3. Wow, if those get under $15k, I might grab one.
  4. Right, just eat the soft and easy to get to bits, then make soup from the rest. 2 meals from 1 bird. For a family of 6
  5. Whole chickens are so much tastier than the pieces
  6. Roast chicken
  7. Thanks for joining Head-Case. I'm glad you're here. That said, you should be aware that this isn't your typical internet forum. We're not here so that you'll have another place to sell your stuff. We're not looking for people trying to pad their post counts, or demonstrate their ability to find witty things on the internet. This is predominantly a place for friends to discuss music, audio gear, and whatever else tickles our fancy. We are sometimes quite rude, often irreverant, and regularly abusive. Think of it like the corner bar where everyone knows each other. Don't mistake our familiarity with each other as familiarity with you, even if you've seen our names in other locations before. Spend some time reading before you start to post. Get familiar with what is going on, and who the various people are. Don't just jump right into the fray. This is your only warning, but I hope you can participate. There's a lot of good information, and more importantly, good people here.
  8. Zach should buy it, crack it open, and post very high resolution pictures of it
  9. Oh, or maddening ringing that never goes away, and prevents you from remembering that your ears could be used for good
  10. If you go deaf because of concertgoing, at least you'll have had a lot of good experiences to remember in your silence

  12. I'd be in for one or two of those disipante cases...
  13. I editted myself out. I can't take on a project of this magnitude
  14. There's definitely information in that wikipedia page. Nothing particularly germain but it's information. XLR digital is typically AES/EBU, which isn't SPDIF, tho many dacs and adcs will accept SPDIF over the XLR connection. I just don't see a problem with what lavry did in that case, and I was confused as to what sherwood saw as being a problem.
  15. I don't think I was aware there was a standard for order of inputs. Especially when each has a different connector, so there's not much chance of confusion.
  16. Wasn't it the lavry da10 that had a couple of "settings" that did nothing?
  17. I saw his images.
  18. Ok those numbers are bigger than I was expecting for just the parts. I may have to back out.
  19. spaghetti with meat sauce
  20. Any reason you left me off? [*]grawk - 4 - 4 I'll want parts, boards, chassis, panels, etc.
  21. I'd be hip for io boards

  23. I'm not sure how you would even know this information. Maybe you just hang out with a bunch of wannabes, hipsters, and djs?
  24. It's rarely the chip that's to blame for or gets credit for how a dac ends up sounding. A well designed analog stage is significantly more important. Hopefully that chinese dac will live up to your standards. So far, audiogd seems to be awfully shilly in their "grass roots" advertising, so I'm wary of their products.
  25. That's a lot cheaper than their dive watches
