  2. I'd be in for one or two of those disipante cases...
  3. I editted myself out. I can't take on a project of this magnitude
  4. There's definitely information in that wikipedia page. Nothing particularly germain but it's information. XLR digital is typically AES/EBU, which isn't SPDIF, tho many dacs and adcs will accept SPDIF over the XLR connection. I just don't see a problem with what lavry did in that case, and I was confused as to what sherwood saw as being a problem.
  5. I don't think I was aware there was a standard for order of inputs. Especially when each has a different connector, so there's not much chance of confusion.
  6. Wasn't it the lavry da10 that had a couple of "settings" that did nothing?
  7. I saw his images.
  8. Ok those numbers are bigger than I was expecting for just the parts. I may have to back out.

  13. I'm not sure how you would even know this information. Maybe you just hang out with a bunch of wannabes, hipsters, and djs?
  14. It's rarely the chip that's to blame for or gets credit for how a dac ends up sounding. A well designed analog stage is significantly more important. Hopefully that chinese dac will live up to your standards. So far, audiogd seems to be awfully shilly in their "grass roots" advertising, so I'm wary of their products.
  15. That's a lot cheaper than their dive watches
  16. Which one is that din?

  18. I won't be at this one, since I'm going to LA right after, but otherwise I'd have made every effort.
  19. I'll only not attend for an honorarium.
  20. It means they're allowed to read, and pm, but not post.
  21. You couldn't have put this in the slow forum thread?

    Any Deadheads on HC?

I have a huge number of friends that might disagree with that statement

    Any Deadheads on HC?

I don't think of myself as a deadhead anymore, but I put in my time in a vw camper selling soda in parking lots to pay for gas food and tickets. There's a lot of good audience recordings, and the betty kantor audience/soundboard matrix recordings floating around out there. Plus starting around 86, The Oade brothers started bringing schoeps mics, their great preamp, and various early digital recordings to shows and capturing spectacular recordings.
  24. What gets me is that I can hear distortion in both, so I have trouble telling which is the one they mean.
  25. I wanted it to work out for him, I really did.
