i like the sumiko pearl I'm using at jp#s recommendation. It was $99, and sounds good to me -
I thought they were ok, I'd go as high as $300

Arena sound isnt' always bad, it's just always bad with incompetent sound engineers. Go to a Roger Waters concert to see how good arenas can sound.
