New Woo Audio Electrostatic Headphone Amp!
MASantos replied to Voltron's topic in Headphone Amplification
Looks great! Too bad I won't listen to any of these new amps before 2011... -
From the head-fi thread:
-
Welcome dude!
-
What do you mean with Meier's amps reputation? I had a headfive for two years and it was a solid little performer. Certainly no ultra high end amplifier, but at a 200€ price tag was really good! AFAIK, Meier audio has a good reputation.

Is Building a Power Cable Similar to Building an Interconnect
MASantos replied to The Monkey's topic in Do It Yourself
I guess I'll live forever, twice! I've got about 500 gallons of cider vinager in the warehouse!! brilliant ideia: What about cider vinegar boiled power plugs and sockets? From the snake oil POV it should be as good as the crio shit! -
I started the thread on the 3rd by Lisbon time! Most of you were still on the 2nd!
-
That's reaching into used stax price range right? That would be spot on for the electrostatic amp Alex is designing!
-
Well it's already the 3th over here so: Happy Birthday Nate! Have a great one! Drinking a beer for you!
-
Happy Belated B Day! I always miss birthday threads...

Really awesome gear! Any chance of opening them up for some inside pics? Would love to see the insides of such a beautiful amp!
-
Count me in as well! Will send paypal later today. Manuel!

Happy B Day Colin!!

I'd love to have those BN reissues, both music maters and acoustic sounds. But my income just got cut by 1/3th... bummer!

Happy Birthday Steve! Have a great one!

Start searching TT brands! VPI, REGA, Clearaudio, and so on. Some of these have the bearing, others sell platters. You can find some parts this way. Search google for DIY turntables, motors, motor controlers... It really depends on how much DIY you want. You can build a motor controller board, or buy a motor and PSU from a manufacturer, like rega for instance. (I'm not sure they sell motors though)

New TTVJ FET-A Headphone Amp / Preamp
MASantos replied to Voltron's topic in Headphone Amplification
But oh mighty Voltron, if it looks good, it MUST sound goooooooooood!!! The "shinyness" reflects the sound waves directly into your brain!! It's sooooo obvious!!! -

Well, looks don't really have any impact on sound quality right? Yeah, no bling... here all the $$$ goes inside!! ps: I also like to have nicer looking stuff, but I understand Pete and Todd's thinking behind their products! -
Where in Spain do you live? Can I come for a visit when they're done?;D;D
-
Torpedo, if you need I can build your boards, in case your friend can't. I'm right next door to you so shipping shouldn't be a problem. I could even take the trip, Spain's always a pleasure to visit!
