Get the 717, it matches great with the 009 (I've been using this combo heavily for the last few weeks) and also would make a decent amp for the 007, just in case at some point you decided to try them.
Investing on a 009 set makes much more sense than getting the R10. However I love these headphones, they're something that one deserves to try at some point
I made late to this thread, but read his PM. For the lack of severe pain which usually associates to an eardrum perforation, I'd say it's just a wound on the earcanal skin. In any case that ear needs to be inspected, and meanwhile, avoiding water getting into it to prevent infections.
This. I hate menus and having to navigate for minutes (or carrying the manual) to know where to activate or change a function. Add to all those buttons/wheels you mention a white balance selector and we're done.
