  2. Hmmm... Listened to some samples, and his melancholy "angry" piano isn't doing it for me. I'll have to think about this one. (time limit wont let me edit my last post, even though I clicked edit before 15 minutes was up - but I didn't save in time)
  3. Thanks, will check it out!

  5. Interesting.
  6. Jackson, welcome back - don't miss the Colorado High-Fi meet 7/25/09 in Denver.
  7. Moved the facepalm and a$$hat to the end and it works without spaces.

  9. x2 Too bad the XRCD version costs about $60 for the 2 disk set, but I have that and the standard single disc version. And still have the LP hidden in a box around here that I bought in the 80's

  11. That was my first thought too.
  12. BTW, your iPhone case looks similar to my Mophie Juicepack Air, which does come close to doubling my battery life. I don't have to plug into the car power to get a 15 minute charge up a few times a day anymore. I'll usually have between 70-90% of my battery life left at the end of the day now, instead of running out 3-4 hours before bedtime.
  13. The 3D effect is kinda eery and the clouds look like cotton balls attached to blue painted glass. If you took the sky as the only element in the photo, and flipped it, it might look like the earth photographed from space.
  14. Lot's of companies use Chinese batteries.
  15. My dreams were always for having been signed up for a class that I never attended - either didn't know I was signed up, or forgot about it, and then realizing that I was screwed with the semester ending that day and I hadn't even shown up for the final exam either. Those dreams didn't end till I was almost 40, which was about 10 years after I finished my pediatric residency program.

Any link about this news other than from http://chucktv.net/ ? Nevermind: http://www.chuckpodcast.com/chuckpodcast/MAIN.html http://www.nbc.com/Chuck/ - is it really not till March 2010?
  17. If the ZDT doesn't work out for me, the Woo 22 is my next favorite choice. I wanted the ZDT because it can drive my 4-pin and single ended phones, plus off the speaker out it can drive my Stax SRD-7 Pro and K1000 (I wanted toobs instead of SS Beta 22). That way everything can run off one rig in the bedroom, and I'll pair up the Woo GES and Woo WA6 together in my living room rig for stats and dynamics. If I end up selling or passing on the ZDT for a Woo 22, then maybe I'll look at an Almarro A205a Mk2 for my SRD-7 Pro and K1000.
  18. Always wondered why they call it a Spork. Now we know.
  19. Still hoping I don't regret selling mine. With my luck you will find a way to make it better than the O2 Mk1. Good thing April fools has passed us by already. The good news is that (after selling my Edition 9 and O2 Mk2) I now have enough money to pay off the second half of my EC ZDT, and about 80% of my HD800.
  20. I tried them out and one of my cases fits my K1000 just fine, and the other one fits my woodied D2000 just fine. They also fit my HD600 perfectly if I use the foam from the original box. So I should maybe have bought three not two. But I have a Headroom soft headphone bag that is smaller and holds my HD600 plus three cables, so they will be easier to pack along for CanJam in my backpack. I wish the foam could be more custom looking smooth molded/carved, and not have to end up with ragged holes from plucking away the unneeded foam. I also have a smaller Hirsch case that I keep my RS-1 in, so i didn't need one for those - and of course the O2 Mk1 already have a nice flight case. I didn't try to see if the Jade would fit, but I think they might be too big. I'll take some pics later and post them.
  21. Make The Girl Dance "Baby Baby Baby" at Kontraband UK
  22. Peter F. Hamilton The Temporal Void (book two of the Void trilogy, after the Dreaming void) and this trilogy follows the Padora's Star and Judas Unchained books, but takes place about 1,000 years later.
  23. To me it was all about the mids between the O2 Mk1 and Mk2, not the mid-bass hump which wasn't an issue for me. The Mk2 was much better with the earpad spring mod, but not totally. The mids still had more of a flavor of it's own as well as being more forward, but to me that made them a little richer and more intimate for some music. Even a little more alive at times. However, I could still tell the Mk2 were adding something to the music. My Jades have that same issue, but somehow have less etch and more transparency and sparkle. Neither one have never sounded as bad to me as Spritzer describes them, and I think Naamanf agrees with me on the Jade being enjoyable (but I wont ask him to admit it here). Since I have a $1400 HD800 and a $2500 ZDT on order, something had to go. So, the Stax O2 Mk2 is now sold. That leaves me with O2 Mk1, HE60, Jade, Smegma Pro, SR-003, SR-001 modded, SR-Lambda, SR-5NB and SR-80. I think that is enough stats to keep me happy, although I will miss the Mk2 along with the ESP950 and Lambda Signature that I sold previously.
  24. Over time your ear's skin will toughen up a little, and then it will bother you less. I had the same issue with Grados, where I had to use them regularly or my ears would get too sensitive again.
  25. Okay, now you've gone too overboard with that one. Nobody really needs the display.
