  1. Listening to my P-1 now. It doesn't suck.
  2. Congrats on the job Ken! No help on the lappy, tho. Excited that I am getting a new Dell model -- in Dusty-approved all black, no less -- and I am hoping it can manage to play music without all the drops and stutters of my current one.
  3. Damn, that is intense! Sorry your buddy is going through this, Mike, but you are a good friend as always.
  4. Same here. I use it on PC with Firefox too.

Also nice! Glad to hear that Jeff.

  7. I just remembered that you asked about how the P-1 betters the FET-A. I don't really know because I have not done a side by side comparison and do not intend to in any detail. My point was that I am not saying this little amp is the greatest thing evar and beats out my favorite "full-size" amps. If I am able to listen to the P-1 and FET-A in the next couple of days, I will post some thoughts.
  8. Six posts within minutes or registering and they are all of the same quality as the above! Hooray for you! You might want to read the PM you got upon registering and take a moment to breathe and read before blurting more. Vetiver -- Tight Knit
  9. Hold your head still, I think Reks has some education to throw at you.
  10. I didn't have the AD2Ks around so I have not heard them with the FET-A. I am not sure I will have the chance to check out that combo before I pass it along. I am not sure what you mean by "including gain" but I did not get the sense that the amp was too much for any of the low-impedance cans I used (HF-1, PS-1 and Ed. 9). I had plenty of play on the volume.
  11. Thanks fellas. I did not feel the amp was underpowered with any of the cans I tried. I had to turn it up slightly more with the Senns and the most with K340s, but I don't think that I was ever past 10 or 11 o'clock on the volume.
  12. Also posted on HF: The Intro Todd recently sent me a production model of the new TTVJ FET-A amp that he and Pete Millett have created. The amp went on sale this month for $649, and is available exclusively from TTVJ.com. Pete did the design of this fully discrete, Class A headphone amp and preamp, and Todd assembles and sells them. The FET-A has two pairs of RCA inputs and the volume-controlled preamp output on the back, and substantial Elpac wallwart provides the power. The front has a power switch, input selector, volume control and both
  13. Arrghh. Sorry about that Dinny. Here's to wishing you good news and an end to the headaches. /me drinks cognac in your honor/

  16. Dan, We need pics of the feast you are preparing today. I am so damn jealous of all those mud bugs and boudin that a little photo journalism could give me a virtual taste of it. Cheers!
  17. I think that the new designs actually have improvements, not cost cutting. The square rods, for example, broke far more often than the round ones do. The cables I think are upgraded, and other such things. The whole silver 325i thing awhile back was new stock trickling in without notice because dealers get stuck with the "old" models when new ones are announced. It is a very decent policy followed by Grado. Anyway, I am curious as hell to hear the PS1000 especially with flats -- and will check out Zanths's page shortly -- but it is not going to knock the PS-1 off the top of the heap and shouldn't do anything to the value of those truly limited edition cans.
  18. Flashback cheers! Have a fantastic birthday Dan!
  19. Are you still talking about pens at this point?
  20. How can you have too many records or too many bottles of scotch. Plus, they go so well together!
