  1. eGlobaL Digital Cameras Australia has the HD800 price at $1059aud. NZ and Australia only though. Just in case anyone's thinking about it.
  2. What's extremely hot? It is sitting on a thick rubber mat? A short to ground may explain the sudden heat...? I've measured my SumR in my BHSE at 70C. I've since re-housed it in a well ventilated metal box, temps are much better after a few hours (40 - 45C). They're rated max 105C, so I'm not too worried, and they are relatively noise free. However... The two SumRs in my FX5 buzz if I push the current up to the Amps optimum range. I've had to dial it down because the piss poor quality of the transformers.

    Fuck Australians!
  6. and about time... I’ve been keenly anticipating this . Here’s a link for those that are interested or have missed the news; http://www.amb.org/forum/gamma3-high-resolution-dac-development-t2656.html
  7. ^ I also prefer the original. My favourite the Guarneri...
  8. Double check the data sheets. Confirm whether the pinout diagram is viewed from the top or from the base.
  9. I really enjoy the case and design aspect.
  10. Brilliant work. Loving the compact footprint as well.
  11. To the contrary. With a nice big vulnerable, gullible and cashed up audience Head-Fi marketing model is dam good. It really should be applauded, it's not easy to flog snake oil by the bucketful, they do it so well. Chin up you can count yourself as one of the lucky who can see through the smoke and mirrors.
  12. Very talented people here. Managed to catch this today. It’s an Australian Purple Swamp Hen.
  13. The current is fixed, I don't see why you couldn't use trimmers? Dial it up for winter, dial it down for summer...

  16. Really! I can agree with everything except my bass has never been electrical sockets, oopsy daisies maybe but never electrical sockets. Try and at least get you facts straight.
  17. I ran a quad of the Psvane EL34PH’s (from ebay) for a while, all four rattled mechanically, I sent them back, the sound was amazing though. I’d have to agree with the hype presented over on head fi, maybe Grand Fidelity would be a better quality supplier... I don’t know. Running a quad of SED’s at the moment, they are nice, not Psvane EL34PH territory though.
  18. I always thought their stuff pricey, and that 2 digit display is as butt ugly. What about Kevin’s digital attenuator?
  19. I don’t know about the differences with or without carpet, I’d say yes it would have an impact somehow. PMC import Byston and have some sort of affiliation, I’d say solid state would be right at home, I also thick Arcam would be a great choice, from what I’ve read. I had a friend over last night, he bought along his NAD M51 DAC. I’m currently using a Buffalo SEIII DAC. The M51 wiped the floor. No contest. I have it on loan for a while... The days of DIY DACs are over for me, especially given the price of the M51.
  20. Smog - A River Ain't Too Much to Love
  21. Bonnie Prince Billy - Master and Everyone
  22. Grills off is better. They also audibly flap with some heavy bass material. I take em off when listening.
  23. Jeepers that is small. My problem is more layout, the listening area is arrayed across the short size of a rectangle room, opposing substrates glass, brick, gyprock and a lowish ceiling. The 22’s just don’t seem fazed. [/url
