Then we have the idiots who think there are some gray areas in amp design who will dismiss the good performers as missing "the magic". I know in some cases where manufacturers have sued publications to either stop or delay publication of reviews. When you are doing this sort of stuff for a commercial publication there are all these sorts of issues to navigate. The comments we make on here are largely from personal experience so are much less contentious for manufacturers, for them they hold little weight in their eyes as far as the normal joe public punter! Maybe author should have included a on ear critical listening grading too? Or maybe that would be subjective and tests were all objective in measuring only.
