  • First day in two months the high has been below 55 and first day in almost 3 its snowed.  Hopefully this bad luck isn't a sign of how things will go with the new toy i just took delivery of..

  • I learned a ton and had a blast at my Driver's Academy class on Saturday. There were 24 students, about 16 of the 24 were teens and young-twenty-somethings and the other 8 of us were older drivers. Fo

I will check out that road, and you'd better show me the roads you discovered by the river in Indiana.  I've found a few nice drives by the river in Northern Kentucky and Ohio.

Jacob, the Ohio River roads in Indiana I am talking about are the following: Just northwest of Louisville, on the Indiana side of the river, pick up Indiana 62. You'll drive that west for quite a while. Twisty and fun. The times I've been on it there was little traffic and good pavement. You'll then intersect with Indiana 66. Continue west on 66. It pretty much follows the river. Some great twisty bits, good pavement and really nice river views. Things straighten out and get boring as you get closer to Evansville.

No telling.  I do not have a lot of faith in the middle of June story I last heard.

Mentioned the e63 amg wagon to my wife and she didn't balk.... We aren't crazy enough though.

Nothing crazy about it.  Looks like a fun car.

I think it sounds very reasonable. Might have to cross shop it with a CTS-V wagon. To bad the RS-6 doesn't make it stateside because that would be a good option as well.

Now for the ultimate kid hauler and grocery getter I would go for a Brabus 800 (G65). But I am crazy.

You should do dat, Chris.

AMG G-Wagens drive even worse than they look, which is hard.

He isn't talking about the G-Wagen, he is talking about the E63 AMG, basically the Mercedes version of the M5:

What do the VW crew think about the quality of the stock sound systems in your cars.  I assume they are averagish?  The weird subwoofer where the spare tire should be seems kind of weird.

  • Author

Do you guys have the Fender system?

Drove quite a nice Harman Kardon sound system today with a 425hp convertible attached. Can I get a "dew eet"?

  • Author

I will give a qualified dew eet, but nothing official until I know the actual car.

The candidates, in order of increasingly gross expenditure, are topless RS5, M4 and 911 4S.

911 is the only one I would get out of that group.  I would get one myself if the people in this area were not douche-holes that enjoy hitting my cars in any parking space I leave them.

If AWD is needed the M4 is out. Can't beat the 911 as a drivers car, but I would think the RS5 would be better as a daily driver. 650i w/xdrive or M6?

RWD is fine here, we had maybe 4 flakes of snow this winter. The porkers are a lot more expensive and hard to find in 4S config because they made most of the recent production run into gimmicky GTS with nasty alcantara dashboards. Thankfully, I am not the decision maker ...  ;)
